The Great Laundry Debate

-Or-

How I Convinced My Wife to Do All the Laundry from Now On

Caption:As I was cleaning the house the other day, I had an argument with my wife over my ability to do the laundry. I was headed to the laundry room to begin washing a load of clothes when I heard her voice from the living room.

Mrs. Rebecca Pino- “Hey honey. What ya’ doing?” she asked inquisitively. (HOOK)

Mr. Matthew Pino- Thinking nothing of it, I answered “Doing some laundry.”

Mrs. Rebecca Pino- “You know you suck at doing the laundry” she scolded. (CLAIM)

Mr. Matthew Pino- “What do you mean? I do just fine with the laundry” I replied. (COUNTERCLAIM)

Mrs. Rebecca Pino- “You do not. You always forget about it” she said. (REASON)

Mr. Matthew Pino- Raising an eyebrow, I asserted “I do not!”

Mrs. Rebecca Pino- “You absolutely do. You always start a second load and leave it in the dryer” she complained.

Mr. Matthew Pino-“What do you mean?” I asked, mildly offended.

Mrs. Rebecca Pino-With irritation in her voice, she answered “Well, you start the first load. Then, when it is finished, you move it to the dryer and begin the second load. Once the first load is finished in the dryer, you move the second to the dryer, start it, and then forget about it while you are folding and putting away the first load.” (REFUTATION- CITING EVIDENCE)

Mr. Matthew Pino-“When do I do this?” I demanded.

Mrs. Rebecca Pino-“You did it last week. Remember? I asked you to let me do the laundry from now on? I told you that having to run the dryer a second time to get the wrinkles out is a waste of energy.” (REASONS)

Mr. Matthew Pino-“Oh yeah. I forgot about that”, I whispered to myself. “That’s my bad. Will you do it for me? I have a few things I need for the weekend that need to be cleaned.” (CONCESSION)

Mrs. Rebecca Pino-“I guess so, dummy, but you owe me!” She jested.
