Exhibition Games

1.  What is an Exhibition Game?

An Exhibition Game is a game arranged between two teams of registered players, which is either a scheduled league game, play-off game, cup game or tournament game.

2.  Teams Eligible to Play an Exhibition Game

A team Under 9 and older.

3.  Application to Host an Exhibition Game (AHEG)

An Application to Host an Exhibition Game must be used when applying for approval to play an exhibition game. Each team must provide “Full Team Identification” as defined in the OSA’s published rules.

The AHEG must be fully completed and returned to the District Association

a)  7 days before an exhibition game involving 2 Ontario teams

b)  15 days before an exhibition game involving a team from another province or from the USA

c)  30 days before an exhibition game involving a team from outside Canada or the USA

d)  The AHEG cannot be approved until verification of an approved travel permit from the team travelling is received.

e)  The Peel Halton Soccer Association (PHSA) has granted blanket permission to all affiliated Clubs to play exhibition games against other PHSA teams with the game being played within the boundaries of the PHSA. Copies of all documentation must be retained by the hosting club.

4.  Registration Requirements for an Exhibition Game

a)  Travel Permits are required for all teams coming from outside of PHSA to play and exhibition game.

b)  Teams from outside Ontario must supply proof of accident/injury/illness medical insurance to the Exhibition Game Host prior to participating in an Exhibition Game.

c)  Each player must provide the appropriate registration documentation or that player will not be allowed to play in an exhibition game.

d)  The Exhibition Game Rules may permit teams to include players registered with other Clubs – providing proper documentation.

e)  The Exhibition Game Host shall collect team sheets that include Team Name and Team Registration Number for each team and misconduct reports from the referee immediately after each game and keep on file.

f)  Registered Referees must be used for all exhibition games.

g)  Exhibition games involving foreign professional teams shall comply with the Rules and Regulations of the Canadian Soccer Association.

5.  Travel Permits to Exhibition Games

Properly approved travel permits required for all exhibition games being played outside of the boundaries of the PHSA.
