EXECUTIVE & GENERAL MANAGEMENT

1. Tell me about your organization. Is it a start-up, a turnaround, a high-growth organization, a major US corporation, or a leading multinational organization? What are annual revenues? How many employees? How many operating locations? Market presence in how many countries on what continents?

2. Please provide a detailed listing of all functions, activities, projects, programs, operations, departments, divisions, and organizations under your direct responsibility. What are the activities? How many employees?

3. Do you have P&L responsibility? For the whole organization or just specific operations, divisions, and departments?

4. Who are your primary customers? In the US or abroad? Any recognizable names? Any customer honors or awards that either you or the company have received?

5. Do you have responsibility for operating budgets? Capital budgets? Have you been able to reduce annual costs? How? In what areas? By how much?

6. What about your performance in revenue, profit and/or market share growth? How was the growth achieved and what were the results? Can you quantify?

7. Did you lead, manage and/or participate in any major corporate transactions – mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, strategic alliances, partnerships, spin-offs or new market development initiatives? Who were the players involved and what was the financial impact?

8. Every senior executive works his or her way to the top generally from a previous career path in one particular discipline. Was your discipline finance, marketing, operations, human resources, sales, or something else? Do you still retain full responsibility for this function?

9. What have you done to improve productivity, efficiency and performance? Detail the specific initiatives, who was involved, how long the project took and what the financial results were.

10. Any notable technology improvements you’ve spearheaded? What technologies did you implement and for what specific business functions? What were the results? Can you quantify?

11. Any revolutionary new products and/or services you’ve launched into the market? National or worldwide? What were the financial results? Were the results better than projections?

12. Any major changes in corporate culture, vision and/or market positioning? Why? What were the specific initiatives?

13. How does your company fare against the competition? What is your ranking in the industry? Has your ranking improved since you’ve been employed with the company?

14. Have you resolved any major issues impacting the company? Problems with money? Problems with staffing or management? Problems with regulatory compliance? Tax issues? Organizational issues?

15. What are your responsibilities to the Board of Directors? Investors? Shareholders? Bankers?

16. Have you expanded the company’s marketplace? From what to what? Any positive financial results?

17. What major contracts have you negotiated? With whom? For how much? Have you been able to reduce the costs associated with these contracts? How?

18. Have you introduced any innovative employee management systems or processes such as gainsharing, pay-for-performance, incentives or anything else to strengthen productivity?

19. Do you chair and/or participate on any task forces, committees, Boards of Directors or any other leadership forum?

20. What are your five strongest leadership skills? Can you relate each skill to a specific achievement?
