JOB TITLE:Head of Fundraising

ESSENTIAL
/DESIRABLE
Education and Qualifications /- Educated to ‘A’ level or equivalent
- Evidence of continuous personal and professional development
- Educated to degree level
Experience /
- Proven record in achieving fundraising income of over £0.5 million
- Proven line management, team and organisational skills - effectiveness in motivating and developing a team of fundraising staff to achieve challenging targets
- Designing and delivering compelling presentations to raise funds and awareness
- Business planning, monitoring and analysis of income, trends and forecasting
- Developing fundraising strategy, policies and procedures to meet organisational objectives
- Evidence of building successful partnerships with business resulting in increased income and profile
- Experience in working in a Hospice or health care environment
Knowledge and Skills /
- Current and comprehensive knowledge of diverse fundraising income streams, best practice and new initiatives
- A strong grasp of fundraising strategy and marketing
- Ability to prioritise own work schedule in an ever-changing environment
- Ability to evaluate profitability of fundraising initiatives so as to maximise return on investment.
- Financial planning and project management techniques
- Excellent IT skills to include Excel, donor database programmes and presentation software. Understanding of and enthusiasm for new social media.
- Ability to make outstanding pitches and presentations to the public, major donors and companies
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Wide knowledge of charity legislation, data protection and other best practice requirements as they relate to fundraising
- Capacity to understand and communicate the vision of FNHC and the services provided by the Hospice in order to interact credibly with donors, volunteers and service users

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Probationary period / 6 monthsHours/days of work / 37.5 hours per week
(Flexibility to work weekends as and when required)
Place of work / Base: Walton Lodge
Salary / £35,000 - £40,000
Dependent on experience
Holiday / 25 days + Bank Holidays
Sick Pay / Available on satisfactory completion of 6 month probationary period
Pension / Statutory pension scheme
Option to increase matched contribution on satisfactory completion of 6 month probationary period
