1st District: 11/05/12 to 11/13/12

A1 Beat:

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 3900 block of Halpine Road, Rockville on Friday, 11/16 between 9:00 a.m. and 6:11 p.m. Forced entry; property taken.

·  Two commercial burglaries occurred at 5401 Randolph Road (Randolph Beer & Wine and Pure Glass Virtue Store) in Rockville on Monday, 11/19 at 9:15 a.m. Forced entry. The suspect was arrested.

Arrested: Male, 25 yrs. old, of no fixed address.

·  Graffiti was drawn on the door of El Patio, 5420 Randolph Road, Rockville between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, 11/15.

A2 Beat:

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 600 block of Marcia Lane, Rockville on Thursday, 11/15 between 11:22 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Forced entry. Nothing was taken.

A3 Beat:

·  No significant events occurred during this reporting period.

A4 Beat:

·  Three residential burglaries occurred in the 7700 block of Yellowstone Way, Derwood on Friday, 11/16 between 2:00 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. The suspects were located and all of the property was recovered. In one instance, entry was unforced; in another it was forced; and in the third it was unsuccessful.

Arrested: Male, age 14, from Silver Spring;

Male, age 14, from Germantown.

·  Two vehicle thefts occurred in a parking lot owned by Reed Brothers Dodge, 15955 Frederick Road, Rockville between 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, 11/15 and 7:30 a.m. on Friday, 11/16.

·  Two graffiti incidents occurred in the 16600 block of Crabbs Branch Way, Derwood:

Ø  On Wednesday, 11/14 at 10:22 p.m.

Ø  On Thursday, 11/15 at 9:31 p.m.

B1 Beat:

·  Graffiti was found in front of the Ezras Israel Congregation, 803 Montrose Road, Rockville on Thursday, 11/15 at 7:21 p.m.

B2 Beat:

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 14100 block of Blue Ash Way, Rockville on Wednesday, 11/14 at 7:00 p.m. Forced entry; unknown whether anything was taken.

·  Graffiti was drawn on the Porta-Johns at the Herbert Hoover MS construction site, 8810 Postoak Drive, Rockville between 4:00 p.m. on Friday, 11/16 and 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, 11/17.

B3 Beat:

·  No significant events occurred during this reporting period.

B4 Beat:

·  Two robberies occurred on Monday, 11/19 in North Potomac:

Ø  At 7:54 p.m. in the 13600 block of Gum Spring Drive. The suspects threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspect: B/M, 20-40 yrs. old, 5’8”, black ski mask, black shirt & pants;

Suspect: unknown race M, 20-40 yrs. old, 5’9”-5’11”, black ski mask, black shirt & pants.

Ø  At 8:45 p.m. in the 14600 block of Gallant Fox Lane. The suspects assaulted the victim and unsuccessfully removed property.

Suspects: two B/M’s, 19-25 yrs. old, one in a green ski mask and the other in a dark blue ski mask.

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 11200 block of Greenbriar Preserve Lane, Travilah between Monday, 11/12 and Saturday, 11/17. Forced entry; property taken.

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 11300 block of Amberlea Farm Drive, North Potomac on Friday, 11/16. The suspect is known to the victim.

·  Two vehicle thefts occurred in the beat. Both of the stolen vehicles were left unlocked with the key inside.

Ø  Between Monday, 11/12 at 11:00 p.m. and Tuesday, 11/13 at 8:00 a.m. in the 11700 block of Glen Road.

Ø  Between Sunday, 11/18 at 10:00 p.m. and Monday, 11/19 at 8:00 a.m. in the 13100 block of Brushwood Way.

2nd District: 11/12/2012 to 11/20/2012

D1 Beat:

·  Four thefts from vehicles occurred in a residential lot in the 8500 block of 16th Street, Silver Spring overnight from Friday, 11/16 to Saturday, 11/17. Forced entry; GPS unit taken.

·  A theft occurred in the 3700 block of Curtis Court, Chevy Chase sometime between Saturday, 11/17 and Sunday, 11/18. Property was taken from outside the location.

·  Graffiti tags were noted on recycle bins in the parking lot of Rock Creek Forest Elementary School, 8330 Grubb Road, Chevy Chase sometime on Monday, 11/12.

D2 Beat:

·  An aggravated assault occurred at Woodmont Avenue & Rugby Avenue, Bethesda on Sunday, 11/18 at approximately 11:30 p.m. The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and the victim fled.

Suspect: B/M, 25-28, 5’10”-5’11”, 150-180 lbs.

·  A theft incident occurred in the 7500 block of Old Georgetown Road, Bethesda on Wednesday, 11/14 at approximately 4:20 p.m. An unknown suspect removed property from victim as the victim shopped at Safeway.

D3 Beat:

·  No significant activity to report.

E1 Beat:

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 6400 block of Walhonding Road, Bethesda on Wednesday, 11/14 between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Unforced entry; property taken.

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 7200 block of Nevis Road, Bethesda on Thursday, 11/15 between 11:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Forced entry; nothing taken.

·  Two thefts from vehicles occurred in Bethesda during the daytime hours; one on Sunday, 11/18 at Friendship Boulevard and Western Avenue and the other on Monday, 11/19 at The Hills Plaza and S Park Avenue. Forced entry; clothing taken.

E2 Beat:

·  No significant activity to report.

E3 Beat:

·  Two commercial office burglaries occurred at 6707 Democracy Boulevard, Bethesda on Friday, 11/16. No further information is available at this time.

E4 Beat:

·  A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 10500 block of Montrose Road, Potomac on Sunday, 11/18 at approximately 6:30 p.m. The suspect assaulted the victim and removed property.

Suspect: B/M, 50, 6’, 220 lbs, unshaven.

·  Two residential burglaries, likely related, occurred on Wednesday, 11/14 in this Rockville beat:

Ø  In the 11000 block of Cedarwood Drive between 12:10 p.m. and 12:15 p.m. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

Ø  In the 5900 block of Valerian Lane between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Forced entry; property taken.

3rd District: 11/12/2012 to 11/20/2012

G1 Beat:

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 600 block of Mansfield Road, Silver Spring between 7:00 p.m. on Friday, 11/16 and 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, 11/17. Forced entry; nothing taken.

G2 Beat:

·  Two armed robberies occurred on Tuesday, 11/20 in the unit block of Manchester Place, Silver Spring. In the first incident at 9:15 p.m., the suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property. Five minutes later the suspect approached another victim and unsuccessfully attempted to remove property.

Arrested: Male, age 20, from Silver Spring

·  Five residential burglaries occurred in this Silver Spring beat:

Ø  On Tuesday, 11/20 between 9:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. in the 200 block of E Melbourne Ave. Forced entry. Nothing appears to have been taken.

Ø  On Tuesday, 11/20 between 9:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. in the 200 block of E Melbourne Ave. Forced entry; property taken.

Ø  On Tuesday, 11/20 between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. in the 9200 block of Mintwood Street. Attempted forced entry; unsuccessful.

Ø  On Monday, 11/19 between 5:15 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. in the unit block of Lauer Terrace. Forced entry; property taken.

Ø  On Thursday, 11/15 between 12:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. in the 1000 block of S. Mansion Drive. Unknown means of entry; property taken.

H1 Beat:

·  An armed robbery/assault occurred in the 8600 block of Piney Branch Road, Silver Spring on Sunday, 11/18 at 8:00 p.m. The suspects threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspects: (5) B/M’s, wearing black hoodies, black pants.

Ø  An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 8400 block of Garland Avenue, Takoma Park on Thursday, 11/15 between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

Ø  An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 9000 block of Piney Branch Road, Silver Spring on Tuesday, 11/13 at 7:50 p.m. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

H2 Beat:

·  A residential burglary occurred between 11:00 p.m. on Friday, 11/16 and 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, 11/17 in the 9600 block of E Light Drive, Silver Spring. Forced entry; property taken.

·  A residential burglary occurred on Thursday, 11/15 between 9:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. in the 9800 block of Arbor Hill Drive, Silver Spring. Forced entry; property taken.

I1 Beat:

·  A strong-arm robbery occurred in the area of Broadbirch Drive and Bournefield Way, White Oak on Wednesday, 11/14 at 9:46 p.m. The suspects assaulted the victim and removed property.

Suspects: (4) B/M’s and 1 B/F.

·  A robbery/assault occurred in the area of Valley Brook Drive and Greenhill Drive, Colesville on Thursday, 11/15 at 6:14 p.m. The suspects assaulted the victim and removed property.

Arrested: Male, age 17;

Male, age 19, from Silver Spring.

·  Five residential burglaries occurred in the 11700 block of Old Columbia Pike, Silver Spring between Tuesday, 11/13 and Thursday, 11/15. These incidents occurred between the morning and early evening hours with entry being gained by unknown means in three of the incidents and forced in the other two incidents. Property taken.

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 12400 block of Lima Drive, White Oak on Friday, 11/16 at 9:53 p.m. Unforced entry; property taken.

I2 Beat:

·  Two commercial burglaries occurred at the Maiwand Kabob Restaurant, 15508 Old Columbia Pike, Burtonsville on successive days, Tuesday, 11/13 and Wednesday, 11/14, each at approximately 2:42 a.m. Further details are not available at this time.

·  Four residential burglaries occurred in this Burtonsville beat:

Ø  On Thursday, 11/15 between 12:00 p.m. and 7:50 p.m. in the 13900 block of Palmer House Way. Forced entry; no property taken.

Ø  On Wednesday, 11/14 at 11:10 a.m. in the unit block of Scarlet Sage Court. Forced entry; property taken.

Ø  On Wednesday, 11/14 between 12:00 p.m. and 2:28 p.m. in the 3900 block of Dunes Way. Unforced entry; property taken.

Ø  On Monday, 11/12 at 4:55 a.m. in the 3700 block of Stepping Stone Lane. Unknown entry; unknown if anything was taken.

J1 Beat:

·  A burglary occurred at Drew Elementary School, 1200 Swingingdale Drive, Silver Spring on Saturday, 11/17 at 4:00 p.m. No forced entry; nothing taken.

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 13100 block of Collingwood Drive, Silver Spring between Friday, 11/16 at 1:00 p.m. and Saturday, 11/17 at 3:30 p.m. Forced entry; property taken.

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 1300 block of Cavendish Drive, Silver Spring on Saturday, 11/17 at 11:40 p.m. The suspect is known to the victim.

J2 Beat

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 2400 block of Sapling Ridge Lane, Brookeville on Saturday, 11/17 between 5:30 p.m. and 7:58 p.m. Forced entry; property taken.

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 17100 block of Old Baltimore Road, Olney on Thursday, 11/15 between 8:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Forced entry; property taken.

K1 Beat:

·  An armed robbery occurred in the 13500 block of Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring (in the rear of the church at Georgia / Hewitt) on Tuesday, 11/13 at 10:50 p.m. The suspects threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspects: two masked men.

K2 Beat

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 5400 block of Manorfield Road, Rockville on Monday, 11/19 between 7:50 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Forced entry; property taken.

L1 Beat:

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 11600 block of Gail Street, Silver Spring on Wednesday, 11/14 between 9:15 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Unforced entry; property taken.

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 3300 block of Pendleton Drive, Silver Spring on Friday, 11/16 between 8:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. Forced entry; property taken.

L2 Beat:

·  An aggravated assault occurred at the Wheaton Metro bus area, Wheaton on Wednesday, 11/14 at 10:30 p.m. The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and was arrested.

Arrested: Male, 22, from Silver Spring.

·  An aggravated assault occurred in the 11200 block of Georgia Avenue, Wheaton on Monday, 11/19 at 12:45 a.m. The suspects assaulted the victims then fled.

Suspects: two Hispanic males, 20’s, average height and thin build.

·  A commercial burglary occurred at Suburban Solutions LLC, 3000 Oak Drive, Kensington on Sunday, 11/18 between 12:34 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. Unforced entry. Property taken.

5th District: 11/12/12 to 11/20/12

M1 Beat:

·  An armed robbery occurred in the 20400 block of Autumn Harvest Circle in Germantown on Wednesday 11/14 around 7:20 pm. The suspects threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspect: B/M 6’2”, 200 lbs.

Suspect: B/M

·  The three vehicle-related thefts occurred in the beat occurred on different evenings (the 15th, 16th, and 18th) and none involved forced entry. GPS units, iPods, and a cell phone charger were stolen. Vehicles on Peridot Lane, Appledowre Circle and Frederick Road in Germantown were targeted.
