1st District: 12/10/12 to 12/18/12

A1 Beat:

·  No significant events occurred during this reporting period.

·  An aggravated assault occurred at Randolph Road & Parklawn Drive in North Bethesda on Saturday 12/15 at 11:00 p.m. The suspects are known to the victim.

·  A residential attempted burglary occurred in the 12200 block of Gaynor Road in North Bethesda on Friday 12/14 between 7:25 and 7:56 a.m. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

A2 Beat:

·  A theft occurred at a construction site located at 12725 Twinbrook Parkway in Rockville on Monday 12/17 between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Eighteen brass water valves were taken.

A3 Beat:

·  An attempted armed robbery occurred at the Rockville Metro, 250 Rockville Pike in Rockville on Sunday 12/16 at 9:00 p.m. The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and unsuccessfully attempted to obtain property.

A4 Beat:

·  A strong-arm robbery occurred at Frederick Road & Redland Boulevard in Rockville on Friday 12/14 at 9:00 p.m. The suspect assaulted the victim and obtained property.

Suspect: B/M, 20’s, all in black

·  An armed robbery occurred at The Food Express, 16254 Frederick Road in Rockville on Tuesday 12/18 at 12:25 a.m. The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspect: H/M, 22-28 yrs. old, 5’6”-5’8”/170-180 lbs., glasses, blue puffy winter jacket, black jeans

·  A burglary occurred at Angela’s Hairstylist & Braiding, 8653 Zetts Avenue in Gaithersburg, between 3:30 pm. Wednesday 12/12 and 11:00 a.m. Thursday 12/13. No forced entry; property taken.

·  Nine thefts from vehicles occurred in the Derwood area between Saturday 12/15 and Sunday 12/16. No forced entry; loose items in the vehicles were taken, such as coins, GPS units and cell phones. Streets that were involved included Indianola Drive, Grinnell Drive, Buena Vista Drive and Oskaloosa Drive.

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 9800 block of Bentcross Drive in Potomac on Saturday 12/15 between 5:30 and 10:30 p.m. Forced entry; property taken.

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 7900 block of Robison Road in Bethesda on Monday 12/17 between 9:30 and 10:50 a.m. Forced entry; property taken.

D1 Beat:

D2 Beat:

·  A commercial burglary occurred at 7910 Woodmont Avenue #455 in Bethesda, sometime between the afternoon of Friday 12/14 and noon on Saturday 12/15. Forced entry; property taken.

·  A commercial burglary occurred at 4915 St Elmo Avenue #100 in Bethesda, on Monday 12/17. No further information is available at this time.

D3 Beat:

·  No significant activity to report.

E1 Beat:

·  Five thefts from vehicles occurred this week, four in the Somerset area. Three were entered by force, the other was unforced. Items taken include an iPod, GPS unit, laptop, and clothing.

E2 Beat:

·  Two thefts from vehicles occurred in the 4900 block of Battery Lane in Bethesda, sometime between Wednesday 12/12 and Friday 12/14. One incident had a vehicle part taken and the other was an attempt to take a vehicle part.

·  Two thefts from vehicles occurred in the 8500 block of Hazelwood in Bethesda, overnight from Friday 12/14 to Saturday 12/15. Unforced entry was gained into two vehicles and loose items left inside were taken.

·  One theft from vehicle occurred in the 6000 block of Dellwood Place in Bethesda on Saturday 12/15 between midnight and 6:00 a.m. Bags containing recently purchased gifts were taken from a vehicle parked on the street. It is unknown if the vehicle was locked.

E3 Beat:

·  An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 5200 block of King Charles Way in Bethesda, sometime between Tuesday 12/11 and Friday 12/14. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

G1 Beat:

·  A robbery occurred in the area of Fenton Street/Bonifant Street in Silver Spring on Sunday 12/16 at 3:30 a.m. The suspect assaulted the victims and removed property.

Suspect: B/M 30-35 years, 5’10” 190-205 wearing a blue button down shirt

·  An attempted burglary occurred in the 700 block of Easley Street in Silver Spring on Saturday 12/15 between 11:00 a.m. and 7:32 p.m. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

·  A commercial burglary occurred at The Danya Institute located at 8737 Colesville Road in Silver Spring between 5:00 p.m. Tuesday 12/11 and 9:00 a.m. Wednesday 12/12. Unknown entry; property taken.

G2 Beat:

·  An aggravated assault occurred in the 10500 block of Brunswick Ave in Silver Spring on Thursday 12/13 at 7:15 p.m. No further information is available at this time.

·  An aggravated assault occurred in the 100 block of Schuyler Road in Silver Spring on Monday 12/10 at 7:10 p.m. The suspect is known to the victim.

·  A residential burglary occurred on Tuesday 12/18 at 2:26 p.m. in the 9500 block of Woodland Drive in Silver Spring. No further info is available at this time.

·  An attempted residential burglary occurred on Tuesday 12/18, between noon and 3:40 p.m. in the 9300 block of Long Branch Parkway in Silver Spring. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

·  A residential burglary occurred on Tuesday 12/18, between 11:00 a.m. 3:00 p.m. in the 9300 block of Long Branch Parkway in Silver Spring. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

·  A residential burglary occurred on Tuesday 12/18, between 8:50 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. in the 500 block of E. Wayne Avenue in Silver Spring. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

·  A residential burglary occurred on Tuesday 12/18, between 8:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Melbourne Avenue in Silver Spring. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

·  A residential burglary occurred on Friday 12/14 at 8:47 a.m. in the 1400 block of Woodside Parkway in Silver Spring. No further information is available at this time.

·  A residential burglary occurred on Friday 12/14, at 2:40 a.m. in the 1200 block of Noyes Drive in Silver Spring. Forced entry; unknown if anything was taken.

·  A residential burglary occurred between 10:30 p.m. Wednesday 12/12 and 5:00 a.m. Thursday 12/13, in the 100 block of Normandy Drive in Silver Spring. No forced entry; property taken.

·  A residential burglary occurred on Monday 12/10, between 8:30 a.m. -6:30 p.m. in the 9100 block of Flower Avenue in Silver Spring. Forced entry; property taken.

·  A commercial burglary occurred in the 2100 block of Walsh View Drive in Silver Spring on Sunday, 12/16 at 5:18 p.m. No further information is available at this time.

·  Seven incidents of theft from vehicles occurred between Tuesday 12/11 and Monday 12/17 in this Silver Spring beat during various hours. Cash, GPS Units, sunglasses, electronic equipment were stolen. Streets targeted included Highland Drive, Normandy Drive, Eastmoor Drive, Lynnmoor Drive, Woodside Parkway, Indian Spring Drive and Sudbury Road.

·  A strong arm robbery occurred in the 8800 block of Garland Avenue in Silver Spring on Monday 12/10 at 11:45 p.m. The suspects assaulted the victim and obtained property.

Suspects: (3) B/M 15-17 5’8” 150-160lbs, wearing black “hoodies” and jeans

·  A residential burglary occurred on Tuesday 12/18, at 4:35 p.m. in the 100 block of E Wayne Avenue in Silver Spring. Nothing further is available at this time.

·  An attempted residential burglary occurred on Saturday 12/15 at 2:33 a.m. in the 8800 block of Glenville Road in Silver Spring. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

·  A residential burglary occurred on Monday, 12/17 at 8:22 p.m. in the unit block of Eastmoor Drive in Silver Spring.

·  A residential burglary occurred on Friday, 12/14 at 2:00 p.m. in the 100 block of Ames Road in Silver Spring.

·  A residential burglary occurred on Monday, 12/10 at 6:13 p.m. in the 1700 block of Mt Pisgah Lane in Silver Spring.

I1 Beat:

·  A robbery occurred at Springbrook High School, 201 Valleybrook Drive in Silver Spring, on Monday 12/18 at 11:08 a.m.

·  A residential burglary occurred on Tuesday, 12/18 at 9:30 a.m. in the 1600 block of Carriage House Terrace in Silver Spring.

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 12400 block of Loft Lane in Silver Spring on Sunday 12/16 at 3:03 a.m. No forced entry; property taken.

·  An aggravated assault occurred in the 13900 block of Castle Boulevard in Silver Spring, on Wednesday 12/12 at 9:21 p.m. The suspects assaulted the victim.

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 14100 block of Castle Boulevard in Silver Spring on Wednesday 12/12 between 8:30 p.m. and 11:19 p.m. No forced entry; property taken.

·  A commercial burglary occurred in the 14000 block of Castle Boulevard in Silver Spring on Monday 12/17 at 9:24 a.m. Property was taken.

J1 Beat:

·  A bank robbery occurred at Capital One Bank at 13301 New Hampshire Avenue in Silver Spring on Wednesday 12/12 at 5:20 p.m. The suspect was arrested.

Arrested: Male, age 27, from Silver Spring.

J2 Beat

·  A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 18100 block of Town Center Drive in Olney on Wednesday 12/12 at 9:45 p.m. The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspect: black male, 20-25, 5’10”, medium build, corn rows, wearing a black bandana, a black North Face jacket, and grey baggie pants.

·  A vehicle theft occurred on Monday 12/17 at 12:50 a.m. at Fletcher’s gas station, 18001 Georgia Avenue in Olney.

Arrested: Male, age 19, from Silver Spring

·  A homicide occurred in the 3700 block of Bel Pre Road in Aspen Hill on Sunday 12/16 at 2:52 a.m. A press release was issued regarding this incident.

·  An aggravated assault occurred at Northgate Park in Aspen Hill occurred on Tuesday 12/18 at 4:18 p.m. A press release was issued regarding this incident.

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 3400 block of S. Leisure World Boulevard in Aspen Hill on Saturday, 12/15 between 1:15 – 3:00 p.m. No forced entry; property taken.

K2 Beat

·  A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 12500 block of Valleywood Drive in Silver Spring occurred on Monday, 12/10 at 12:30 p.m. The suspects removed property from the victims.

Suspects: five black and Hispanic males

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 13400 block of Tangier Place in Rockville on Friday 12/14, 8:00 -1:00 p.m. Forced entry; property taken.

L1 Beat:

·  No significant activity.

L2 Beat:

·  An armed robbery occurred in the 11300 block of Norris Drive in Silver Spring on Monday 12/17 at 2:30 p.m. The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspects: two black male teenagers

·  An armed robbery occurred at University and Grandview in Silver Spring on Sunday 12/16 at 3:30 a.m. The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspect: Hispanic male 25 - 35, 5’9” - 6’, 190-200 lbs.

·  A strong-arm robbery occurred at 11171 Georgia Avenue in Wheaton on Friday 12/14 at 5:40 p.m. The suspects assaulted the victim and obtained property.

Suspects: two black males

·  An aggravated assault occurred in the 11100 block of Georgia Avenue in Wheaton on Sunday 12/16 at 1:20 a.m. The suspect is known to the victim.

Arrested: Female, age 32, from Silver Spring

·  An aggravated assault occurred in the 10800 block of Georgia Avenue in Wheaton on Thursday 12/13 at 8:16 p.m. The suspect is known to the victim.

Arrested: Male, age 29, from Capitol Heights

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 11000 block of Grassy Knoll Terrace in Germantown on Wednesday, 12/12 between 6:30 a.m. and 8:49 p.m. Forced entry; property taken.

Arrested: Male, age 32, from Germantown

·  There were five thefts from vehicles within close proximity near 118 and 355 in Germantown between Wednesday 12/12 and Thursday 12/13. Forced entry; vehicle parts were taken.

·  Two thefts from vehicles occurred in the commercial office building parking lot located at 26317 Ridge Road in Damascus between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Friday 12/14. Forced entry; property taken.
