Acute care / Addictions / Assessment & brief treatmentAcute services provide assessment and treatment for adults with acute/severe mental illness. This may mean a person needs care as an inpatient in hospital for a period of time or intensive support through a Home Treatment Team in the community. / Our addictions service is one of the largest in the country and covers seven boroughs in London. The services cover a range of specialist drug and alcohol community treatment options for clients and families affected by substance misuse. A specialist inpatient service is based in Ealing. In 2008 we opened the first NHS ‘problem gambling’ clinic. / Assessment and brief treatment services provide a single point of contact for GP’s, primary care practitioners and local mental health organisations. These services provide short-term interventions in the community for people with mild to moderate mental health needs, including improving access to psychological therapies.

Child and Adolescents / Community recovery / Eating disorders
Children and young people have different mental health needs to adults and therefore require specialist services. CAMHS services are provided mostly in the community and we have an inpatient service for 8-13 year olds. Family therapy also plays an important role. We also provide perinatal services to new mothers experiencing mental health problems. / Our community recovery treatments help people continue living independently whilst promoting recovery. This may be through early intervention teams for people experiencing their first episode of psychosis; through a Community Recovery Team for people who require ongoing support; or through day services and personalised care. / Support for people with an eating disorder, such as anorexia or bulimia, is provided at the Vincent Square Eating Disorder Service in Westminster and Northwick Park Hospital in Harrow. Inpatient, outpatient and day patient treatments are available to service users.

Learning disabilities / Offender care / Older people & healthy ageing
Learning disability inpatient and day services are provided at the Kingswood Centre in Brent. The centre provides assessment and treatment for service users who have complex mental health needs and/or complex challenging behaviour. Inpatient services are provided in Enfield and an intensive community care treatment service in Brent. / Primary care, mental health and addiction services are provided at several prisons and young offenders’ facilities across London. Care for offenders and those at risk of offending is also provided through forensic community health teams and court liaison services. / The service provides assessment and treatment of both organic and functional illness, as well as services tothose with a young onset dementia, those over 70 and people who are more physically frail or with complex physical illnesses. Teams include inpatient units, CMHT's, Home Treatment Teams, Memory Assessment Services, Hospital Liaison, Day Services, Intermediate Care and Continuing Care.

Psychological medicine / Rehabilitation / Community healthcare
Support is provided to general hospitals through psychiatric liaison services and clinical health psychology. The liaison services provide assessment for people who present with mental health needs in A&E and sometimes on wards in general hospitals. Service users can be referred to the appropriate local service. / Rehabilitation services provide long-term care for service users with ongoing mental health needs in both community and inpatient settings. Rehabilitation services provide intensive therapeutic treatments to help people develop their full potential and improve their quality of life. / In Hillingdon and Camden we provide community health services such as physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, podiatry and health visiting. Community health services span from birth to death and cover the full range of common physical healthcare problems.
