Hounslow’s Promise Mentoring SchemeMentor Application
Thank you for taking the time to complete this form. We are creating a database of mentors and as participants are accepted onto the Mentoring Programme, we will suggest matching for mentors and mentees as close as possible to preferences expressed by both sides.
This will be the first year of this Mentoring Programme. The closing date for applications for mentors is noon on the18thDecember 2017. We are planning to hold an Induction Day and Mentor training for successful applicants in late January 2018 at Cranford Community College, which will provide the first opportunity for mentors to meet their mentees. The formal mentoring relationship will continue from this point until the end of November 2018.
The programme will include quarterly events for mentees with mentors invited for some visits if they wish to join. The programme team will be available to support as needed. It is expected that for the first six months meetings will take place in school but timings can be flexible and by mutual agreement between mentor and mentee.
For one-to-one mentoring relationships, we are looking for mentors who can be available for around 2 hours a month, with a meeting or contact fortnightly in the first six months, and monthly for the remaining four months.
You can apply also to be a group mentor. This would be a commitment of 2 hours a quarter to include possible masterclasses, talks, Q&A or hosting a visit at your workplace for a small group of pupils.
Please complete the form below. This information will tell us about your availability, experience and expertise, and will be used to best match you with participants with particular needs and experiences. Where this best suits the need of the participant, we may use a ‘multiple mentors’ approach, and will match mentees to additional supporter mentors targeted at their specific needs and aspirations.
