Evergreen Cat Lodge
- The building was formerly The Inn at Soda Creek bed & breakfast
- Mike and Susan purchased the building in February, 2007
- Evergreen Cat Lodge opened for business in September, 2008.
- The final section of the lodge was completed in March, 2009
- The approx. 6,000 sq. ft. building was extensively remodeled into a 3,000 sq. ft. cat lodge and a 3,000 sq. ft. owner’s quarter.
- The lodge is comprised of 32 boarding suites, a grooming room, reception room and 2 service areas.
- There are 3 classes of boarding suites
- V.I.P. (Very Important Pet) $35/day, up to 3 cats from the same family
- Deluxe - $29/day, up to 3 cats from the same family
- Economy - $22/day, up to 2 cats from the same family
- The lodge is equipped with state-of-the-art air purification systems and each litter box is continuously ventilated.
- The lodge has one room dedicated to the Evergreen Animal Protective League for the care of special needs cats.
- The lodge is located on a 9 acre property with lots of wildlife including deer, elk, foxes and birds galore, including wild turkeys.
- Mike and Susan Nocket are the owners/operators and live on-site.
- Mike and Susan are members of the Pet Care Services Association (PCSA).
- Evergreen Cat Lodge is licensed by the Colorado Department of Agriculture, Animal Industry Division.
- Evergreen Cat Lodge was formed as a Limited Liability Company, LLC
- Evergreen Cat Lodge is located just off I-70 and just 23 miles from downtown Denver.
- According to the American Pet Products Association (APPA), there are more cats than dogs in the United States (88.3 million cats, 74.8 million dogs).
- The APPA estimates that total U.S. pet industry expenditures in 2009 will be $45.4 billion. Of that amount, $3.4 billion will be spent on pet grooming and boarding - primarily small businesses.
- An argument can be made that people take better care of their pets than they do themselves. According to a 2004 survey by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), when asked which health care provider they visit more often, 58% said their pet's veterinarian, 27% their physician and 15% saw both equally.
- Also according to the AAHA survey, when asked "Who listens to you best?" 45% said their pet and 30% said their spouse/significant other.
- When asked "How often do you think or your pet while you are away from him or her during the day?”, AAHA survey results were 3% never, 13% once a day, 54% a few times a day, 7% every hour, and 21% all the time.
