INDEMNITY

The applicant agrees to indemnify the County Council against any legal liability in respect of any accident involving death or bodily injury to any person or damage to or loss of any property, real or personal, happening consequent upon or in connection with the use of the land.

The applicant will affect a policy of insurance in the sum of not less than £5,000,000 in respect of any third party or public liability arising on or in connection with the use of the land and will produce to the County Council on demand a current certificate in respect of such insurance prior to the holding of any event.

The applicant further confirm that any fire precautions or other conditions as detailed in your consent letter will be undertaken and that on the days of the event the instructions of the County Park Ranger and any other authorised officer are followed:

NOTE FOR ORGANISERS

Event applications involving orienteering, sponsored walks, cross country runs etc. should include a route plan with details of the start and finish areas, vehicle parking and marshalling points.

Any event using a public footpath or bridleway for the purpose of a motor vehicle trail of any description requires the consent of the County Council, under Section 33 of the Road Traffic Act 1988. Applications should be made in writing to the Director of Democracy, Law & Transformation, Staffordshire county Council, Wedgwood Building, Block A, tipping Street, Stafford ST16 2DH, giving full details of affected routes.

Where routes use or cross public highways, applicants should advise local Police.

To allow applications to be fully considered and processed (largely to ensure that no double-booking takes place), it is essential that all completed application forms are returned with 28 days’ notice of the proposed event to:
