Concept of Operation

INSERT YOUR CONCEPT OF OPERATIONS

Description ofPrimary Evacuation Action- Option 1

This option is based on the parameters of a 3 to 6 hour window or notice / time from the time the decision is made to evacuate given areas of the county, with specific notification actions commencing within 15 minutes.

Other portions of the County requiring evacuation will utilize the option 1 protocols. In option 1 the sheltering of residents will tie in with the States plan for those operations to be conducted.

Description ofEmergency Evacuation Action- Option 2

This option is based on a catastrophic failure of the levee (i.e. 3 or more areas of the levee being compromised) requiring an immediate emergency evacuation action for areas of South Sioux and Dakota City.

General Information

Both options require the agreement by the Board of County of Commissioners, the Mayorsand the County Sheriff to initiate evacuation actions.

Evacuation Notification

All notifications to the public will be made in both English and Spanish.

The notification process will be initiatedelectronically.

A door to door notification campaign will be evaluated based on safety considerations.

Radio and TV will be utilized for the notification to evacuate.
