As a result of the treaty, Germany lost lands and natural resources. It was also forced to reduce its military. Finally Germany had to pay the Allies a very large amount of money for the damage the Allies suffered because of WWII. This caused Germany to face many problems economically like high unemployment. The cut in the military also contributed to the high unemployment. Starvation and homelessness were occurring frequently. Hitler and the Nazi Party offered solutions to Germany’s economic problems.

They became enemies after WWII because of their differences in government and economy. The US wanted to spread democracy while Soviet Union wanted to spread communism. The United States government and economy is based on personal choice and private ownership. Inthe Soviet Union the government controlled the economy and there was no private ownership. People in the Soviet Union had few personal freedoms.
