ESOL Level 2 – TRINITY Skills for Life qualification
Who is this course for?
This course is open to all who speak English as a second language, have a good spoken and written level of English or have passed ESOL Level 1 or equivalent exams and wish to improve their level of English.
What does the course cover?
This course covers the necessary skills needed to improve your speaking, listening, reading and writing at this level.
How will I be assessed?
You will complete an initial assessment before starting the course to determine your level of English and if this course is suitable for you.
You will be assessed throughout the course to ensure you reach your personal learning goals.
At the end of term, if you are ready, you will take an accredited exam in either Level 2 Speaking & Listening (February), or Level 2 Reading & Writing (July).
Will I get a qualification?
Yes. If successful in the exam you will gain a Trinity ESOL Skills for Life Level 2 Speaking & Listening or Reading & Writing qualification and certificate.
What can I do next? Is there a progression route?
If you have completed TRINITY ESOL Speaking & Listening course, you can progress to the next stage at Level 2 – TRINITY ESOL Reading & Writing.
Once you have completed all the exams at Level 2 you can progress onto a variety of courses including: Childcare Level 1/2/3 or Teaching Assistant Level 2/3. You can also progress onto a variety of maths and ICT courses for employability skills development or a range of practical courses for your own personal development.
Are there any entry requirements?
You must complete an initial assessment first to determine your level of English and if this course is suitable for you.
ESOL exam board certificates for Level 1 ESOL speaking, listening, reading and writing
UK & EU citizens have no other entry requirements.
Non-EU & Non-EEA citizens have eligibility restrictions. Please ask at reception to see if you are eligible for our ESOL courses.
How long does the course last?
This course lasts 18 weeks for speaking and listening and another 18 weeks for reading and writing.
Course fees
All ESOL courses are free but you will be asked to provide information on any benefits you are receiving.
For other courses please enquire at reception for details. You may be entitled to concessions for which proof of any income-based benefits must be provided at the time of enrolment.
