CALL TO ORDER:
Mr. Norris, Chairman, called the regularly scheduled Stationary engineer’s business meeting to order at 10: 35 a.m.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Motion (I) was unanimously carried by the Board to approve the minutes of the March15, 2011 meeting with corrections. Motion (II) was unanimously carried by the Board to approve the minutes of the Executive Session as written.
MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC:
Mr. Oyster and Mr. Pearie addressed the Board with questions regarding authority of licensees and the requirements for the operators of chillers and boilers. The members

discussed these questions and referenced Title 6.5 Business Occupations and Professions Article §6.5-§ 302.
OLD BUSINESS:
The Board discussed the status of the regulations regarding the computerized monitoring system and the publication of that information Mr. Smitson agreed to update the Board at the next meeting.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
The Board reviewed and updated the draft of the Board’s FAQs. Mr. Smitson will proceed with submitting this document for approval by the Office of the Secretary in order to have the material posted on the Board’s webpage.
CLOSING DATE FOR PASSING EXAMINATION APPLICANTS AND GRANDFATHER APPLICANTS:
The Board reviewed the following language, which was previously approved to be proposed as a regulation: an applicant who was approved for licensure under the previous grandfather period, without examination, shall apply for a license no later than June 30, 2012. Applicants who have successfully completed a license examination shall apply for licensure within 2 years. Applicants who have completed the examination more than 2 years ago shall apply for the license no later than June 30, 2012.
RECIPROCITY:
The Board discussed the possibility of reciprocity with other States and determined
to table this matter until additional data is collected.
EXECUTIVE SESSION:
Motion (IV) was unanimously carried by the State Board of Stationary engineers to go into Executive Session at 11:15 a.m., in the 3rd Floor Conference Room, 500 N. Calvert Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21202-3651. This meeting was permitted to be closed pursuant to State Government Article Annotated Code of Maryland §10-508 (a) (8). The purpose of the session was to consult with Counsel regarding an applicant for licensure.
Motion (V) was unanimously carried by the Board to return to the public meeting.
Motion (VI) was unanimously carried by the Board to accept the findings in the Executive Session.

CORRESPONDENCE:
The Board received two letters regarding requirements and licensing for stationary engineers The Board determined to table this matter until the next meeting for all members to review these requests.

Motion (VII) was unanimously carried by the Board to adjourn the meeting at 12:20 pm.
