eSchoolViewOffers Creative Student Web Scholarship

(WINTERSVILLE, Ohio)— An extremely accomplished high school student with a keen eye for design in all facets and web development experience has found her talents are paying off.

Indian Creek High School’s Ali Collaros earned a $1,000 scholarship from eSchoolViewfor her web presentation and creativity displaying her artwork. The website development company awarded eight “Investing in Our Future” student scholarships totaling $15,000, a 50% increase from last year’s program, for graduating seniors nationwide.

All seniors across the nation interested in pursuing web design or development at the post-secondary level could participate in either of these categories in the eSchoolView scholarship competition: Web Design and Web Technology. Each contest was graded by a third-party panel of professionals in education using an evaluation rubric provided by eSchoolView an education website and software development company.

Collaros found an inspiration in web design from her multimedia and digital video teacher—Mr. David Moffatt—in his clads she learned how to create websites, PowerPoint presentations and videos. She also offers credit to her art teacher, Mrs. Cindy Phillippi, for where her creativity and imagination comes from.

Collaros created a website for artists at her high school to receive recognition for their artwork, similarly to how athletes are recognized in the newspaper. This being the first time she had created a web page from scratch, she was surprised at how quickly she caught on. Collaros used Wix to develop her site and liked how much this site gives one blank canvas to work with. In addition, all of the photographs on the site were taken by her personally.

Collaros is headed to the University of Cincinnati where she wants to pursue a major in Fashion Design. Although she loves designing and creating new things, she plans to focus more on the product development side of the fashion industry—ultimately to be a fashion buyer.

eSchoolView’s leadership and creative teams value education and the work of school personnel to prepare students for the future. The “Investing in Our Future” scholarship program provides students with an opportunity to work with professionals in the field for mentoring, training on professional grade software and more.
