Brief Description of HEI / The European Faculty of Law is an independent and private higher education institution in Slovenia. It was the first law school in Slovenia which developed its study programmes in correspondence with the European Bologna model of studies.
The Faculty was founded by the Institute for Human Rights, Advice and Education, the Institute of International Law and the Institute of Civil Law. Accreditation from the Higher Education Division of the Republic of Slovenia was granted to the European Faculty of Law by decision no. 1/4-2005 in 2005.
Following its vision, the Faculty is developing as internationally recognized higher education institution in areas of“Law”, “Law and real estate management” and “Alternative dispute resolution”.Its study programmes correspond and develop according to the needs of national and international environment and consist of all three Bologna study cycles (bachelors, masters and doctoral). From 1.10.2016 the Faculty offers also a new master study programme “Civil and Commercial law.
In 2008 Faculty obtained its first Erasmus University Charter, which was in 2013 prolonged by the European commission (ECHE 2014- 2020). The Faculty has already established several bilateral agreements with internationally recognised institutions through which students, academic and administrative staff regularly participate in international activities and mobilities.
Linking theory with practice, practical applicability of knowledge, innovation, professionalism and friendly academic environmentare undoubtedly those elements that put European Faculty of Law among top education institutions in Slovenia. Its success is hidden in a student-friendly and innovative learning process that emphasizes combining theory with practice. Lectures and seminars are held in small groups, conducted by top Slovenian lecturers and lawyers from the ranks of judiciary, diplomacy, attorneys, public administration and other professions in the field of real estate and Alternative dispute resolution.
In recent years the Faculty established an “eUniversity”internet based platform (distance learning) which allows students to study independently in accordance with the method of Open learning (participants themselves determine the place, time and pace with which they will learn). European faculty of law performs also a Joint Degree Program with Mississippi College School of Law ( Jackson, USA ). An exchange program between Mississippi College School of Law (MC Law) and European Faculty of Law (Evro-PF) is a unique opportunity for Evro-PF students to live and study abroad on one of the best law colleges in Mississippi, USA. This international education program is the first of its kind in Slovenia and allows Evro-PF students who are in their final year of completing their Bachelors of Law degree or completing a Master of Laws or Doctorate of Judicial Science to attend MC Law as exchange students. The exchange period for Evro-PF students begins in late July/early August and extends throughout the Fall Semester.

The Faculty is looking for new partners and is interested in Erasmus+ cooperation in KA1 and KA2 projects (student exchange, staff exchange, summer schools, Joined master degree programmes etc.), as also Jean Monnet activities. .
The Faculty aims to introduce new study programmes and organise different seminars, conferences and summer programmes (summer schools) which would attract students and academic staff.
With encouragement of research activity,the Faculty provides to achieve academic excellence on the base of generating new ideas, which play an important role in knowledge growth. The Faculty endeavours to establish innovative and creative atmosphere for gaining and including students in the research work.

Information / Lectures and practical exercisesare held in small groups directly in the company of top lecturers and lawyers from the ranks of the judiciary, legal profession and public administration, as other professions in the field of real estate.
Academicstaff are well known experts in their fields, working at the heart of law, real estate sector and ADR sector. These experts share with students a wealth of experience and upgrade their theoretical knowledge. The teaching process takes place in small groups and in a relaxed academic atmosphere - in this way students are better linked with the profession. Graduates of the faculty also confirm the advantage and usefulness of this type of study.
The Faculty has two study centres, in Ljubljana (capital city) and Nova Gorica. Students can choose the study centre they prefer.
The faculty offers also “e-University”, which allows students to study with the method of Open learning.
The Faculty has its own Library and publisher.
