Outstanding performances: snowboarding – EOSSAA boys won gold at OFSAA, Renfrew – 2 gold T&F, Charlan – Girls soccer Bronze at OFSSAA, Regis Senior boys volleyball – 2nd at OfSSAA,

- Any missing champions will be posted on the website.

11.0EOSSAA Championship Calendar 2008/2009 – Deb Walden/Bryan English

- EOSSAA dates can be changed up to the end of September – talk to Deb or Bryan

* NEW* Bid to host championships on-line prior to the Executive Retreat Date for next year

UPCOMING CONVENORS

- Reminder: see link on website (Good info – everything you need!)

(Important points: Make sure your date coincides with the one on the site, for the sake of booking officials, facilities, etc…, contact local convenor, dates for medal ordering, etc...)

- Trophies are to be ordered through Trophy Craft

- An EOSSAA event is not designed to be a money making event (basically officials and trophies should be biggest expense)

- go through Deb or Bryan if there are any difficult issues (not just the coaches)

13.0Principal’s Report, AGM Date and Impact – Suche/Joellen/Dale

- A survey has been sent out to principals about support for the AGM

- Looking to improve the network of principals of being in the “know” about EOSSAA

-A straw poll from the schools present indicated that the present AGM date was the most ideal for them to be here. Many coaches would not come if they had coaching duties still or if they had exams to supervise.

- Collected data will be looked at next fall

-EOSSAA executive does not believe any EOSSAA school should compete at a AAAA level

-Holy Cross, Napanee, and CCVS will all be competing at AAA

-Dave is receiving positive feedback on website

-Improvements: Trying to get results on the site as soon as possible (creates an archive per say…)

-Send photos – any are welcome for the photo gallery

-Update school information – any principal changes, etc…

-Next Year – 2 links to submit championship budgets and results

-Bids for championships will be more transparent – criteria will be online

for questions

-Add your principals email address please…

19.0SAC Meetings and Chairs 2008/2009 – Suche James

-the input from the SAC meetings will be evaluated and future meetings will be determined based on the comments and suggestions made

-EOSSAA exec will help you meet for SAC meetings (Mileage, etc…)

-President’s chair – EOSSAA convenors – contact communications officers or local convenors for info needed

-Create an athletic contact list within your own associations

20.0OFSAA Business – Dale Huddleston/Jean Pye

-Championships – EOSSAA hosting more OFSAA events and awards are being received for Leadership and Sport

-08/09 - A Basketball at Holy Trinity, AAA boys volleyball in KASSAA,

-09/10 - Single A Girls Basketball at Holy Trinity, AAA boys basketball at Frontenac, girls AA volleyball at St. John’s (Perth)

-Soccer is at risk of combining championships (A/AA/AAA) because of a lack of hosts

-AELS system – register all athletes (ask Frontenac for help if needed)

-OFSAA – Colin Wood award is free for outstanding male and female and coach

-Try Day funding: $800.00 is accessible every year if you apply

-Scholarships: We need to access them more…huge money available!!!

-Leadership opportunities for kids – see website

1. Whereas, the EOSSAA constitution has not been updated since April of 2002

and whereas, there have been changes to the constitution regarding age classifications, transfer policy and new executive positions,

and whereas, the constitution has been reviewed by a constitutional committee of the EOSSAA executive and recommendations have been made to bring the constitution current

Be it resolved that the current draft posted on the EOSSAA website be accepted and approved by the legislative council

And be it further resolved that this constitution take effect immediately after the adjournment of the 2008 EOSSAA AGM and upon approval of the legislative council.

2.Whereas, the girls / boys volleyball SAC met this year and have made minor changes to the playing regulations that they deem will serve the best interests of our EOSSAA student athletes,

and whereas, the girls / boys volleyball SAC are the most knowledgeable about their sport,

and whereas, the updated playing regulations have been on the EOSSAA website for at least 14 days so that the membership could review them and object to any part of the updated regulations.

Be it resolved that, the EOSSAA membership accept the updated girls / boys volleyball playing regulations as presented to us by the girls / boys volleyball SAC to take into effect september 2008.

3. Whereas, the Cross Country SAC met this year and have made minor changes to the playing regulations that they deem will serve the best interests of our EOSSAA student athletes,

and whereas, the Cross Country SAC are the most knowledgeable about their sport,

and whereas, the updated playing regulations have been on the EOSSAA website for at least 14 days so that the membership could review them and object to any part of the updated regulations.

Be it resolved that, the EOSSAA membership accept the updated Cross Country playing regulations as presented to us by the Cross Country SAC to take into effect september 2008.

4.Whereas, the boys and girls Soccer SAC’s met this year and have made minor changes to the playing regulations that they deem will serve the best interests of our EOSSAA student athletes,

and whereas, the boys and girls Soccer SAC are the most knowledgeable about their sport,

and whereas, the updated playing regulations have been on the EOSSAA website for at least 14 days so that the membership could review them and object to any part of the updated regulations.

Be it resolved that, the EOSSAA membership accept the updated boys and girls Soccer playing regulations as presented to us by the girls and boys soccer SAC to take into effect september 2008.

and whereas, many changes had to be made to the previous playing regulations,

Be it resolved that the EOSSAA swimming playing regulations be accepted as a package to take into effect for the competition year commencing September 2008.

6.Whereas the basketball SAC updated their playing regulation to better reflect the present reality of EOSSAA,

7.Whereas, the girls / boys rugby SAC met this year and have made minor changes to the playing regulations that they deem will serve the best interests of our EOSSAA student athletes,

and whereas, the updated playing regulations have been on the EOSSAA website for at least 14 days so that the membership could review them and object to any part of the updated regulations.

and whereas, the updated playing regulations have been on the EOSSAA website for at least 14 days so that the membership could review them and object to any part of the updated regulations.

Be it resolved that, the EOSSAA membership accept the updated badminton playing regulations as presented to us by the badminton SAC to take into effect september 2008.

9. Whereas Academie de la Seigneurie is a brand new school in Prescott-Russell and whereas Prescott-Russell has accepted Academie de la Seigneurie as a permanent member to Prescott-Russell ,

Be it resolved that the EOSSAA membership accept Academie de la Seigneurie as a permanent member to EOSSAA and be added By-Law 1 Section 1 of the EOSSAA constitution.

10.Whereas the student population of Ange-Gabriel is under 100 students and whereas St. Mary's Catholic High School is in Close proximity to Ange-Gabriel and whereas LGSSAA supports the twinning of St. Mary's with Ange Gabriel for the competition year commencing in September 2008,

Be it resolved that the EOSSAA membership support and accept St. Mary's and Ange-Gabriel as twinned schools and will therefore compete in ALL sports as members of St. Mary's CatholicHigh School teams.

11.Whereas, the EOSSAA membership have found the website a most helpful tool to communicate with and use for now and into the future,

and whereas, maintaining the website takes specialized expertise on a weekly and sometimes daily basis,

Be it resolved that the webmaster be paid an annual honorarium of $500

to be reviewed every year at the spring EOSSAA Executive Council Meeting.
