Teams are not allowed to withdraw after the Cup draw - $100 forfeit fine per match after draw

SCHEDULE:

Group phase first match: On or before* SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 2012, 10:00 AM

Group second match: On or before SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2012, 10:00 AM

Group third match: On or before SUNDAY, APRIL 7, 2013, 10:00 AM (this match can be played in mid or late November 2012 if teams agree)

QFs, Semi-finals (“on or before”), & Finals: Wednesday, May 15; Wednesday, June 5; and Saturday, June 22, 2013 (KO times TBD)

ADDITIONAL DETAILS AND INSTRUCTIONS

(1) *All players must be “of age” before first match played, excepting goalkeepers, who may be aged 25+ (O-30 Cup), aged 35+ (O-40 Cup), or aged 43+ (O-48 Cup), and who cannot play in the field if underage.

(2) Initial rounds of play will be by GROUPS of FOUR. The Committee will round back if the field is not divisible by four with last entries being eliminated. Exceptions may arise.

(3) THERE IS NO ENTRY FEE. Home teams will pay for the two Assistant Referees @ $50.00 each. The visiting team will pay for the Head Referee @ $75.00.

(4) All players must be properly registered with your team, league and the CSSA, and must have passes. “Non-league” teams (teams not in a CSSA-affiliated league) must post a $300 performance bond and register its players with CSSA. A non-league team may be a combination of two or more existing CSSA-affiliated teams.

(5) Matches postponed due to weather conditions must be made up prior to the next scheduled cup match. Teams who forfeit matches will be fined $100 each match, and not allowed to enter the following year.

(6) All teams entering must secure home fields for all three group match dates as soon as possible to avoid last minute conflicts.

(7) *** Teams with questionable CSSA-wide disciplinary records may not be admitted. ***

(8) The CSSA Executive Board is the sole arbiter of competition participation, rules, scheduling, results, and discipline.

CUP CATEGORIES:

MAJOR CUP: Division One teams, and some Division Two teams

INTERMEDIATE CUP: Some Division Two teams, and Division 3 and lower.

Note:

  1. Team allocation to each cup category is dependent on total number of entries, and at the discretion of the Cup Committee. Additionally, less competitive male O-30 teams (age permitting) may be allocated or placed in the Intermediate Cup with male O-40 teams
  2. Historically, CSSA has held cup competitions in three categories: Major, Intermediate, and Minor. If the number of entries warrant, a Minor Cup will be provided for.
