ELIGIBILITY

➢  COMPANIES NEED TO HAVE BEEN OPERATING FOR MORE THAN 18 MONTHS

➢  COMPANIES NEED TO SHOW THAT THEY ARE HEADING IN A DIRECTION THAT IS BOTH POSITIVE AND VISIONARY

➢  If the judge is satisfied that a submission IN ANY OF THE GENERAL Categories (safety, pEOPLE skills and development, Environmental, Product Design, innovation, manufacturing process, technology, marketing, EXPORT), possesses the relevant evidence to address the necessary criteria for the HMA Board Award, the submission will be further considered FOR THE HMA BOARD AWARD

Terms and Conditions regarding the
2016 HMA Board Award

The winner of this Award will be rewarded with an overseas trip for ONE PERSON to a Trade Expo or event, pertinent to the winner's/ company's line of business.

The trip is to take place in 2016 and will be arranged through the HMA's "In Kind" Travel Sponsors, helloworld, HTG, Newcastle.

The prize covers the cost of 1 economy class return airfare inclusive of taxes and insurance with Qantas Airways (Sydney-Destination-Sydney), plus $2,000 towards accommodation and incidental costs.

As a follow up to the trip, a report is to be submitted (within one month of returning from the trip) to the HMA Board of Directors. The report should demonstrate the benefits and impact of the trip on the person and/or company. The information will be used by HMA to profile and promote future Awards and will be posted on the HMA website to highlight the successful outcomes achieved by winning such a prize.

The Winner may also be requested to speak at one of the HMA's future events to share the experience of such a trip with other manufacturers.

Nominations are open to any manufacturing company that has made an application for an award in at least one or a number of the 2016 listed award general categories - safety, pEOPLE skills and development, Environmental, Product Design, innovation, manufacturing process, technology, marketing, EXPORT.

Excellence in PEOPLE AND SKILLS DEVELOPMENT

Nominations are open to manufacturing companies for consideration of the Excellence in PEOPLE and SKILLS DEVELOPMENT Award at the annual Hunter Manufacturing Awards.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING DEFINITION BEFORE COMPLETING YOUR APPLICATION FORM TO ENSURE YOU ARE SUBMITTING IN THE CORRECT CATEGORY.

DESCRIPTION OF PEOPLE AND SKILLS DEVELOPMENT AWARD CATEGORY

Nominations are invited from any manufacturing company that has introduced an innovative People and Skills Development programme that has contributed to an improvement in the performance of a manufacturing company (provide tangible evidence of these improvements where possible).

The People and Skills Development programme may be in partnership with any training provider, registered training organisation (RTO) or other company, however, the application into the category is open only to the manufacturing company that employs those undertaking the programme.

An organisation with People and Skills Development focus is one that manages people development, their work activities and their performance with the goal of optimising current and future use of individual talent and the cultivation of collaborative teams/units to support current & evolving business needs.

The judges will look for examples of innovation in People and Skills Development demonstrated by, but not limited to, 'out of the ordinary' concept, provision of meaningful, measurable, 'portable' qualifications, improvements in overall company skill levels and operational performance, evidence of 'co-operative' training arrangements, use of multiple delivery vehicles, raising the capability level of teams to improve collaboration and customer service, improvements in leadership capability, employee engagement and culture and morale, use of or embedding of Diversity and Inclusion and community involvement.

Note - Applicants may find that their application into the Excellence in People and Skills Development category may also be a 'fit' for another category, such as Rising Star Award, Apprentice of the Year Award, Safety, Manufacturing Process, etc.

By adapting the information to fit the criteria of other categories you give yourself the opportunity for your product, process etc to be profiled in more than one sector.
