Programme section A - G
07h00-07h30:Finalizing of players’ lists and payments.
07h45: All players seated for round 1.
08h00: 1st Round (Thereafter rate of play - 15 min after the previous round ended)
Prizes
  1. Players will be allowed to enter in a higher section with tournament Committees consent. Unrated players may not play in section A.
  2. No prizes will be awarded to any player who plays in a wrong lower section, whatever the reason for this may be;
  3. The best male and femalewill receive gold. Thereafter silver and bronze for next players regardless of gender. Prize money in A and B. Prize Money subject to total entries.The prize giving will be after the completion of the last round in each section. Prizes will not be shared and no player will receive more than one prize.

Tournament Arrangements
  1. No items may be sold by any person other than those given permission by the tournament organizer.
  2. By your entry into this tournament you agree unconditionally to abide by all the rules and regulations.
  3. The organizers of the tournament are not responsible for the safety of players or their property.
  4. Players have to provide their own chess pieces, pens and, if possible, clocks. The organisers will provide chess boards and notation books.
  5. FIDE Laws and Sedibeng Tournament Rulesapply. Default time is 15 Minutes.
  6. Sections may be joined or separated if needed.
  7. The organizersof the tournament are not responsible for the safety or property of players and spectators.
  8. Refreshments and chess equipment will be for sale.
  9. The following tiebreak system (in the order as given) will be used:
1)Score; 2) Tournament Performance; 3) Bucholz Median System; 4) Sonneborn-Berger
Registration process
  1. Complete one registration form per player.
  2. It will be each player’s responsibility to ensure that he/she appears on the players list.
  3. Entries close at 20h00 on Wednesday16 August 2017.
  4. Players’ list will be available on on Friday, 18 August. If your name is not on the players’ list or you need to withdraw,please contactWilna de Koster (0767641310).
  5. Lateentrieswill participate from the second round only.

SAJCC 2018 CANNED FOOD PROJECT a.There is a lot of people struggling without food, as we are all aware of. b.The Regions are requested to collect canned food throughout the year. c. Each Region needs to bring the collected food with to the SAJCC where they will be required to build a chess piece form the cans of food they collected. d.There will be a prize for the Region who collected the most cans as well as the Region who build the most innovative Chess piece. e.This food will be handed out to selected charities in order to ensure that there are less people going hungry at the start of the year. f. The winners will be announced at the Prize giving on the 8th of January 2018. You can also make a cash contribution towards the cans, it will be used to buy some to build our chess piece. Please bring with on 19 August to Laer Volkskool Open. Contact Marie-Louise Human.

FRIENDLY BLITZ. We encourage parents to please enter Friendly Blitz section. It is going to be fun and will make the day shorter. Maybe it will be good to feel a bit of pressure that your child is experiencing…
