Role and Function of Subcommittee
Engages teachers in knowing best practices (often follows or compliments the data subcommittee - which prompts what should b e researched (e.g. teaching info tech. vocabulary, or writing, etc). They research, write up research notes, develop plan for sharing and discussing with colleagues to ensure understand why wrote and how important to process. / Role and Function of Subcommittee
Ordering, assigning color, writing on chart the color, contact person, copyright of (template in manual), and then putting labels on each set of core materials so people know what color they represent. Typing up that database in excel is time consuming, and falls under this subcommittee. Space to hold all these materials needs to be identified - best to keep if can near where will work on evaluation or easily ready to be transported and to get to when needed. Books are organized by publisher and each assigned color - labels on each core item. I'll see if I have few docs can email to show database and label. They can also help get ready for the workshop or meetings when time comes - making sure you have all the color paper, scissors, templates for taping, summary reports, etc. / Role and Function of Subcommittee
Helps communicate the process, folks who are good at this category, get the overall triangle of Muther Materials Adoption process…can connect the process and help folks feel good about the method and rid any misconceptions or 'old way' thinking. / Role and Function of Subcommittee
Comes into play more when actually in the process and these folks keep their ears to ground for negativity, problems of going back to "old way", they help keep focus on the process and not subjectivity. But they can listen now for folks who are confused as to the method and be communicators. They're good listeners and observers for anxious folks, folks with doubts about the process, and even after the adoption they are great at heading off problems before get bigger. / Role and Function of Subcommittee
Analyzes all data - OAT/OGT, any diagnostic data you may have or other testing - including short cycle assessments you may have. They can also conduct a needs assessment or survey if feel needed for certain data lacking in areas - Or could do parents/kids survey if wanted. Anything to help you obtain data and perceptions count.

Notes from Ann Glass

Somewhere between the data and research subcommittee has to be a group that puts together the forced consensus tool - remember you can do one more for elementary and then secondary options of EQUAL importance. Never force it K-12 if you end up with some options not of equal importance…better to see where logical division would be to have different option or learn how to combine 2 options (like I did with decoding for K-2 and vocab 3-6 more). What matters is having representation of grades, that they understand the options and it's based on data and research - so when roll out to all staff - they can explain the options well. Always helpful to put options in context - give example or definition- not just few words.
