Expression of Interest Form
Please note: this Expression of Interest Form is to become a Stream 1 (1 year) placement provider ONLY. We are not looking for placement providers for Stream 2 in 2018.

1. Your Garden

Any shared arrangements for the placement (i.e. with other sites/gardens. If more than one site indicate if this has been agreed).
Please briefly describe the main focus and features of your garden (i.e. Is there a walled garden? Woodland? What is the history of the garden?).
Describe the key skills and expertise you think a trainee will gain as a result of a placement at your garden (it might be useful to list the types of machinery in use on site).
2. Your Staff
How many trained gardeners are employed, full time, on site? How many volunteers do you have?
Do you currently have trainees working at your garden? Please give details.
3. Working with the HBGTP
The placement begins in September, with interviews in April/May. Are you able to work with that time frame?
What would the probationary period be for a trainee? (e.g. 1 month)
A site induction is a prerequisite for any trainee. Please describe this procedure (or attach relevant documentation).
We require that a trainee has a Mentor and a Supervisor throughout their placement. Can you assign suitable staff to meet these two roles?
A selection of suitable trainee applications are emailed to the placement garden at the begining of April. Will a garden representative be available to complete this sift by the end of the second week of April?
We have a Placement Garden Seminar in the summer (provisional date is 24th July 2018). Both the Mentor and the Supervisor must attend. Can you commit to this arrangement?
4. Terms and Conditions
Please provide details of any proposed terms and conditions (e.g. pay scales, holiday entitlement, working hours).
Will accommodation be provided for the trainee(s)? If so, what type of accommodation (shared house, flat, etc.), and what costs if any would be incurred by the trainee(s)?
