Code Of Conduct

Players should:

· Make every effort to improve skill, technique and stamina

· Avoid violence/rough play and help injured opponents

· Show respect towards match officials

· Show respect towards coaches and team mates regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, race, religion or belief

· Encourage team mates especially when they have made a mistake

· Not use inappropriate language or behaviour

· Set a positive example for others, particularly younger players

· Attend at least 80% of the training sessions (exceptions granted for injuries)

· Attend at least 80% of competitive fixtures (exceptions granted for injuries)

Parents/Guardians/Spectators should:

· Ensure children have appropriate equipment – Drinks, boots, shin pads and warm/waterproof clothing in cold/wet weather and sun screen plus additional drinks in hot weather

· Ensure that children have a nominated adult to accompany them to training, matches, tournaments and presentations. The club or its managers/coaches are not responsible for the children. If you are not attending one of the above, then you must find an alternative adult to be their guardian

· Ensure children behave responsibly at all Pennine Juniors events

· Applaud the opposition as well as your own team

· Avoid coaching the children during the game

· Refrain from shouting/screaming at the children

· Respect the referees/assistants decisions

· Give encouragement to all children, not just your own

· Ensure that children complete the full season once committing to a team and accept that refunds will not be possible under any circumstances

· Ensure that all litter is collected from the side of the football pitch and acknowledge that smoking during a game is strictly prohibited

Coaches should:

· Put the best interests and safety of the children first

· Ensure every child has at least half game

· Ensure children do not start as substitute for two consecutive games

· Ensure that weaker players get an equal amount of coaching

· Put the development of the children before results

· Act as positive role models - display high standards of behaviour/appearance at all times
