Position Summary
Start-up stage non-utility generator of electricity at facilities fueled by “Renewable Energy Sources” (biomass, geothermal, hydrologic, solar and wind) seeks an experienced electric power engineer to lead the engineering, procurement and construction management processes of the company’s acquisition and development activities. The successful candidate will possess extensive experience conducting feasibility analysis, engineering design management, procurement management, construction management and commissioning of electricity generation facilities that utilize Renewable Energy Sources (“Renewable Energy Facilities”), and will thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
Primary Duties
- Conduct project acquisition and/or development feasibility analysis of Renewable Energy Facilities for the Company
- Coordinate, manage and supervise the engineering design process for Renewable Energy Facilities developed by the Company
- Coordinate, manage and supervise the procurement management process for Renewable Energy Facilities developed by the Company
- Coordinate, manage and supervise the construction management process for Renewable Energy Facilities developed by the Company
- Coordinate, manage and supervise the commissioning process for Renewable Energy Facilities developed by the Company
- Evaluate Renewable Energy-fueled electricity generation technologies for use by the Company
- Supervise and train all department personnel
- Manage the department budget
Education Requirements and Professional Certifications
- B.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- M.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- P.E. License
Experience Requirements
- Ten (10) years of energy industry experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience with the development process for Renewable Energy-fueled electricity generation facilities
- Substantial experience with and mastery of due diligence analysis for the acquisition of Renewable Energy-fueled electricity generation facilities
- Substantial experience with and mastery of feasibility analysis for the development of Renewable Energy-fueled electricity generation facilities
- Substantial experiencecoordinating, managing and supervising the engineering design, construction management, procurement managementand commissioning processes for Renewable Energy-fueled electricity generation facilities
- Substantial experience with and mastery of power systems analysis and modeling software (e.g. ETAP, Aspen, PSS/E, PSLF, CYME, EMTP, PSCAD and Thermoflow)
- Substantial experience with and mastery of energy industry regulations, codes and standards (e.g. IEC, NFPA, ANSI, IEEE, NEMA)
- Substantial experience with and mastery of database, spreadsheet, slide presentation and word processing sotfware
- Substantial experience managing department personnel and budgets
Compensation
- Salary: $110,000 to $125,000
- Bonuses: To Be Determined
