Apologies: None

NT noted that some schools had been invited to send representatives. AL offered to circularise all schools. CC suggested also the Enfield Youth Parliament (currently being elected)

Minutes of AGM held on Nov 3rd 2011

The minutes were agreed.

Matters arising:

Window stickers: we had decided to do our own and watched as the London ones ran into problems of too little or too much stickiness, resulting in few being put up by shops. Ours are still 'on the back-burner'. AL suggested going through Town Centre Managers

Chair's Report & Summary of Activity in 2012

We had participated in some events, notably 2 at Forty Hall at which substantial funds were raised selling FT drinks.

There had been a number of church events, not all with direct EFTSG involvement. St Aldhelm's opened their church to show the Olympics on a big screen and served FT refreshments.

NT held workshops at Enfield County School again, 2 assemblies at Wilbury School, and had worked with the FT group at St George's.

NT noted that London has a big database which we could copy. Social networking is the way forward.

NT and BQ had been at an event on Friday with 2 cocoa farmers from Kuapa Kokoo.

Treasurer's Report

RP presented a balance sheet showing a profit for the year of £281.08, largely thanks to the 2 Forty Hall events. We now have £736.46.

In view of the low stall-activity, the main item of expenditure in previous years (membership of NMTF, for the public liability insurance) is being saved this year.

Fairtrade Fortnight Review

There has been lots of FF activity in faith groups.

Ideas for activity in 2013

Following London's example, NT suggested lots of photos on the website, of events in Enfield but not necessarily organised by us. AL may try to get some into Our Enfield too.

London's model of St Paul's having been a big success an exhibition of models was suggested - perhaps made by schools or faith groups - at the Dugdale Centre. We might be able to get the St Paul's model as a centrepice. AL offered to write to the events organiser for the borough.

Another idea was to use some of our funds to run training courses for (new) volunteers training them to go into schools and faith groups to give talks on FT. We would probably have to pay travelling expenses, plus some materials, say £50-100 per event in total.

We need training in social media. NT asked RP to set up a Facebook page but he declined. BL will ask our network for volunteers.

Composition of the Steering Group and Election of Officers

LE resigned from the Steering Group but will continue as a volunteer. The other 6 present will constitute the Steering Group for 2013, though AL will seek to replace herself as LBE rep. Another councillor - ideally a Conservative - will be sought. NT will write a letter of invitation which AL will circulate to councillors.

Action: AL

The following were (re-)elected unopposed as officers:

Chair: Nina Tweddle

Treasurer Rupert Price

Secretary Bill Linton

Fairtrade Borough Renewal

We are now very late and the Foundation are pressing us. The problem is lack of a Flagship Employer. Various suggestions were made: approaching MetaSwitch again; Christian Action Housing (for which Cllr Edward Smith works); Johnson Mathey. CC will ask Cllr Del Goddard for suggestions. Any (other) suggestions to NT who will make the approach. BL to circulate the criteria for a Flagship Employer.

Action: CC, NT, BL, (all)

Any Other Business

BL will produce a Newsletter for our supporters.

Action: BL

We have been invited to send at least one representative (they want one from each borough) to the 10th anniversary celebrations of Croydon becoming the 1st Fairtrade London Borough, on May 18th
