Endocrine Brochure

You will have information presented in class, via handouts, notes, videos, etc, on the endocrine system. Your job is to create a brochure using any technology possible. This cannot be a hand written brochure. You should use graphics, captions, pictures, fun colors, catchy fonts, etc, etc.

This project is essentially a brochure to introduce someone to the purpose of the endocrine system, problems, and how they are treated. It should be easy to read, (as if we had a location at school where students could read about endocrine issues), attractive (as if you were at the doctor’s office, and you were intrigued to find out more about endocrinology while you wait!)

The following are necessary things that must be included in your brochure, however you should always add more if you can.

  1. A brief overview of what the endocrine system is.
  2. Do not copy and paste from the book or internet. This should be in your own words.
  3. A picture(s) showing the anatomical locations of the endocrine glands.
  4. If you use a picture from internet sources or books, be sure to cite the reference in the caption underneath the picture. It can be very small font.
  5. Explain how hormones and target cells interact.
  6. What do hormones do?
  7. How are hormones controlled?
  8. What are problems associated with the endocrine glands, symptoms, and treatment.
  9. Be sure in to include pictures of the disorder / disease if applicable. Again, be sure to site the location from where you found it.
  10. Any additional pictures / diagrams, etc, you want.
  11. Identify one career in any area of endocrinology and give a brief explanation.
  12. Be sure to provide a bibliography or sources, websites, and references. This can be attached to your project or included in the actual brochure.
