μ – precise for Die & Mold

Highest precision is the theme of the new OKUMA MP-46 V. With the vertical machining center OKUMA addresses above all to Die & Mold Makers who demand μ precise machining results and this reproducible, quick and economical in continuous operation. With a footprint of 2.281 x 2.736 mm² the 7.000 kg MP-46 offers a 760x460 mm² large machine table. In order for the MP-46 V to achieve high-accuracy requirements, OKUMA built on the best of the best from their own innovation pool. As with all new machine models Okuma exclusive Thermo-Friendly Concept has been integrated. In addition temperature controlled ball screws in X, Y and Z and the use of a high-precision spindle guarantee thermal stability and precision in continuous operation. MP-46 V is controlled by Okuma’s own OSP-P200M. In combination with OKUMA-linear scales with 0.1 micron resolution and high accuracy of the exclusive Super-NURBS function the MP-46V reaches maximum precision and optimum contour accuracies without loss of dynamics.

Productive, Precise, Process Stability

With the MA-600 H II, OKUMA presents the latest development of its tried and tested horizontal machining center series with an automatic pallet changer and new design. The MA-600 H II allows in X, Y and Z a traverse of 1000 mm x 900 mm x 1000 mm, the interference circle diameter is 1,000 mm, with 1200kg maximum work piece weight. In addition, the horizontal machining center integrates the B-axis, which is a CNC-controlled feed axis with an accuracy of 0.001°. All 3 linear axes achieve a maximum speed of up to 60 m/min with an acceleration of 0.7g.

More Axis More Possibilities

With the new turning center, LT2000 EX OKUMA addresses the manufacturer of complex and precise chuck, bar and shaft parts from mid to large lot sizes. The application benefits of the 11 CNC axes are being demonstrated live. OKUMA’s highlight with 2 opposite main spindles and its three turrets with XYZ axis and 16 tools each is self recommending for complex chuck work with high accuracy demands up to 200mm diameter, bar work up to 65mm diameter and shafts up to 700mm in length.

"The Best of Two Worlds"

OKUMA, known as multitasking machine inventor. The first version, LM70 was release in 1976. At the EMO 2011 the two latest models, MULTUS B200 and B300 will mostly attract the visitors. Both machines not only represent a complete new design but the MULTUS B300 will be used to launch the NEW OKUMA CNC Control, OSP-P300. Visitors can experience the advantage of the cutting condition search function “Machining Navi L-g” on the MULTUS B200 W. “Machining Navi” helps avoid cutting vibrations.

“Tough Guy”

With the 30,000kg giant VTM-1200 YB OKUMA exhibits the latest VTM model series. The stoke of the X,Y and Z axis are 1270mm x 1080mm x 1000mm whereas the rapid speed is 32m/min of each axis. In the linear axis OKUMA’s Absoscale encoders guarantee a 0.1µm feedback to the also OKUMA made OSP-P200. The 360° C axis rotates at a speed of 20rpm. The B axis tilts with 19.5rpm at a stroke of 150°at an accuracy of 0.001°. During simultaneous 5 axis milling, Tool Center Point Control and Super-NURBS guarantees the highest contour accuracy and outstanding surface quality. In combination with the Thermo-Friendly Concept (TFC), even in changing environment temperatures, the user achieves accuracies better than 10µm.

Intelligent Manufacturing

At the EMO 2011 Okuma is presenting groundbreaking technologies for more efficient, safe, resourceful and environment-friendly production. These include, for example, the Thermal-

Friendly Concept (TFC), the Collision Avoidance System (CAS) to the Machining Navi, programmable shutdown of auxiliary power units when not in use (pumps, chip conveyor, etc.) and the consistent development and application of energy-saving technologies, such as highly efficient drives (PREX motors), control (single CPU, energy-saving displays) and other electrical appliances (working lights), can save OKUMA Machine Users hundreds of kWh and large amounts of CO2 which impact the environment.
