Welcome back to school. It is a new school year, and I am looking forward to getting to know all of my new students and challenging them to reach new levels in the education. Students will be required to have access to the internet for some assignments. Please be aware that all teachers send home a progress report the fourth week of each nine weeks. I appreciate your dedication in making this year successful.

Rules:

  1. Follow Directions
  2. Be seated and have materials ready when the tardy bell rings
  3. Be respectful to teacher and other students
  4. Be attentive during instructional time and participate in learning activities
  5. No swearing or teasing
  6. Be prepared
  7. Obey the school rules (see handbook)

Homework:Most homework will be graded on the following scale

100 = complete50 = at least half0 = less than half complete

Grading Policy:

15% homework 40% test/project 35% quizzes & class work 10% 9 weeks test

My name is Emily Frayser and I am your child’s Science teacher. I have been married for 22 years and have three children of my own that range in age from 11-22. I have 15 years teaching experience in middle school science, and I am a nationally board certified teacher in middle school science education. I am dedicated to each of my students as individuals, and I am always seeking and learning new information that will impact your child’s educational experience. Research has proven that when parents and teachers have ongoing communication students are more motivated and have better success in school. Therefore, I would like to invite you to write me a letter informing me of any information that you feel will help your child be more successful in my class. This information could include likes, dislikes, strengths, weaknesses, family situations, personality type, or anything you think is important to help your child as an individual to be successful. This letter is optional and may be turned in at your convenience. Thank you for your support and for sharing your child with me as they embark on this new journey.

Please seal it in an envelope or fold it with a staple or tape and print your name and child’s name on the outside or email it to me at with your child’s name in the subject line.

Needed Supplies:

  • Pencils or pens
  • 1.5 to 2 inch 3 ring binder
  • Dividers
  • Paper
  • Color pencils/markers
  • clear tape (will be turned in for class supplies)
  • Glue sticks (will be turned in for class supplies)

Recommendation:jump/flash drive or have google docs,earbuds/headphones

Donations:tissue, highlighters, packs of pencils, ziplock baggies of all sizes, paper towels, hand held pencils sharpeners, cap erasers, ream of color paper, Clorox wipes,goodies: for a treat box (mechanical pencils, candy, ect)

  • You will get reminders about quizzes, tests, projects, or any other important messages. This will be a mass message to students and parents who have signed up.
