DISCIPLINE CLASS RULES

2012 – 2013

1. You must comply with all the rules established in the ElmoreCountySchool System Handbook.

2. You must serve all your time. No credit will be given for part of a day.

3. You must report between 7:15 and 7:45AM with all work materials (Pens, pencils, paper, etc.) and textbooks. You must remain in your car until directed by ECAP personnel to enter the building. School will dismiss at 2:20PM each day and students should be picked up at that time. Students not off campus by 3:00PM will receive an extra day. Transportation will be provided after the initial parent/student conference has been completed provided the student has not been suspended from the bus. Student will be removed from the bus for inappropriate behavior.

4. You will not bring snacks or gum into the school. If it is not required for school leave it at home.

5. You will not talk or communicate in any way with any student in the school.

6. You will raise your hand when assistance is needed.

7. You will be allowed to go to the restroom once in the morning, at lunch, and once in the afternoon.

8. You will remain in your seat, you will not sleep, turn around or leave the cubicle without permission. Good posture is expected: Sitting up straight, feet on the floor and all legs of the chair on the floor at all times.

9. You will write an entry essay, a rehabilitation plan and a departing essay about your referral to ECAP.

10. You will act with respect at all times.

11. You will respect school property.

12. You will adhere to the ElmoreCounty and ECAP Dress Code Policies.

13. You will have appropriate documentation if an absence is to be excused. Excuses from the parent/legal custodian will specify reason for absence, be signed, dated and include a contact phone number. Specific procedures are outlined in the Attendance Section of the Student Handbook and Code of Conduct.

14. You must follow the directions and attempt the assignments issued by ECAP personnel.

15. You may purchase or bring your lunch.

16. You will not be permitted on any part of your base school campus or any other ElmoreCountySchool System campus during the referral stay at ECAP without prior approval from the ECAP Director and written permission from the base school principal. This includes before school, after school, or over the weekend, etc.

17. You will not be allowed to practice for, participate in, or attend any extra-curricular activity regardless of where the activity is being held, during your entire referral time at ECAP.

18. You will not be allowed to attend any work program during school hours. It is your responsibility to notify your employer and make arrangements for your absence.

DRESS CODE

Students in the ElmoreCountySchool System shall wear the following:

1. Clothing conducive to learning, and respectful of the environment

2. Clothing which covers the shoulders, cleavage, abdomen, and back

3. Clothing that is appropriate to student’s size

4. Pants/slacks at the natural waistline

5. Shoes appropriate for the activity and safety: class, gym, shop, etc.

Shorts, skirts, and dresses no more than two inches above the knee

Students are prohibited from wearing the following:

1. Sunglasses in the building except with a doctor’s prescription

2. See through, skintight, spandex and/or revealing clothing

3. Open or chain belts, belt buckles not buckled, electronic belts or buckles, or cap “fish hooks”

4. Unfastened overalls

5. Pants/slacks with the appearance of sagging

6. Hats, caps, headgear, and any other head cover in the buildings on campus

7. Curlers, picks, combs, or chop sticks

8. Bandannas or sashes anywhere as a part of dress

9. Excessively frayed or torn clothing with holes above the knee

10. House shoes/slippers are inappropriate unless approved by the school administration

11. Clothing depicting unacceptable and/or inappropriate decals, slogans, or pictures: profanity; language containing or referring to suggestive or immoral behavior; gang activity; alcohol, drugs, or tobacco

12. Any clothing and/or headgear which directly or by innuendo disrespects (or is perceived to disrespect) a student’s race, color, religion, gender, national origin, or disability and/or creates, supports, or promotes a hostile learning environment contrary to the anti-harassment policies of the Board of Education (including negative feelings, disharmony, racial or religious discord, intimidation, embarrassment and/or fear)

13. Trench coats or Matrix coats shall not be worn at school
