State education law indicates that cleanliness and decency in clothing can and should be required for everyone on our school campuses, including staff, students, and visitors, and at any school function. Items of attire or costumes can be banned on the basis of their disruptive effect. Parents are requested to encourage reasonable standards of attire. Please refer to the following guidelines:

A students dress, grooming, and appearance shall:

  • Be safe, appropriate, and not disrupt or interfere with the educational process.
  • Not include extremely brief garments, such as, tube tops, net tops, halter tops, one-shoulder shirts, spaghetti straps, plunging necklines, midriff tops, see-through garments.
  • Ensure that underwear is completely covered with outer clothing.
  • Not include the wearing of hats, bandanas, visors, or hoods.
