The Teelin Irish Dance Company is an advanced level performance team comprised of students auditioned from the Teelin School of Irish Dance. Maureen is currently looking for dancers who are interested in being considered for a position with the 2015-2016 Teelin Irish Dance Company.
IMPORTANT: Please note that open positions are very limited, and audition submissions will be considered from eligible dancers only, per the following criteria:
Eligibility to audition for an apprentice position (i.e. "new member") with the Company:
· Champion level dancers are preferred. "All-Prizewinner" dancers with at least two Prizewinner firsts will be considered.
· Enrollment and consistent attendance in an advanced level class at Teelin School.
· At least entering 8th grade for the 2015-2016 academic school year.
Eligibility to audition for a Junior Troupe position:
· Champion level dancers are preferred. "All-Prizewinner" dancers with at least two Prizewinner firsts will be considered.
· Enrollment and consistent attendance in an advanced level class at Teelin School.
· U10 age group through 7th grade for the 2015-2016 academic school year.
Additionally, the Teelin Irish Dance Company is founded on 3 fundamentals principles: Technique, Performance, and Commitment. Commitment to the Company includes, but is not limited to the following:
· Company Orientation - Members and at least 1 parent are expected to attend Orientation on Monday, August 3rd from 5:30pm - 6:30pm
· Company Camp - Members are expected to sign up and attend Company Camp from August 3rd thru August 7th.
o Company Camp is 10:00am-5:00pm, exact times for Company dancers are to be announced.
o Junior Troupe camp is 10:00am-12:00noon.
· Rehearsals - members are expected to be at EVERY rehearsal.
o Company Rehearsals will be scheduled weekly on Tuesdays 7:30-8:30pm from September 8th through Oireachtas, and then 6:30-8:30pm from after Oireachtas through the Spring Show.
o Junior Troupe Rehearsals will be scheduled from 6:00pm-7:00pm on the following Fridays - 9/11, 9/18, 9/25, 10/2, 10/9, 10/23, 10/30, 11/6, 11/13, 11/20, 1/8, 1/15, 1/29, 2/5, 2/12, 2/19, 4/8, 4/15, 4/22.
· Choreography - Dancers are responsible for learning and refreshing all company dances outside of company rehearsal time by viewing the Teelin website video gallery or arranging a practice session with other dancers.
· Annual Performances - Members are expected to participate in assigned performances the weekends of March 5th and March 12th, and in the Teelin Spring Show on Saturday, April 23rd.
· Gigs - Members are expected to RSVP to all gig requests in the time allotted (usually 3-5 days) and to participate in gigs for which they are selected.
· Costumes - Members are expected to have a well-fitting Teelin School Dress and new Teelin headband (or the equivalent male costume for boys). Members are also required to purchase a Company Jacket, Jazz Pants, Company Tank Top and Company Shorts. Additionally, other costumes for theater performances may be required for purchase.

Dancers who complete the questionnaire will be notified by email when the final Troupe assignments have been made, the week of April 19th.
