Student Expectation Contract

The following expectations for students who enter the agricultural education program are designed to provide a safe and efficient working environment for teaching and learning.

  1. When entering the classroom, students will enter quietly, have paper, pencil and other needed materials and be seated promptly.
  2. Students must have permission from the instructor to leave the classroom.
  3. No students are to enter the teacher’s office or desk without permission.
  4. Students will behave in an orderly manner, avoid talking out of turn, not participate in horseplay, and will not be disrespectful to or disturb other students.
  5. The lab area and classroom will be cleaned at the end of each period.
  6. Safety glasses are required at all times while students are working in the ag lab, and in some cases will be required in the classroom.
  7. Students will return equipment in the same or better condition then when they were checked out.
  8. Students must gain the instructor’s permission before using power tools and equipment.
  9. Proper personal protective equipment will be worn in the agricultural lab when needed, and students should dress appropriately for working in the ag lab or field conditions.
  10. Do not lay shop work or tools on the classroom table or desk.
  11. Students should work in a careful and responsible manner to avoid injury or damage to equipment. Students will be responsible for damage done to equipment.
  12. The agricultural education department will not be responsible for projects left in the lab area or lockers over the summer. ALL projects must be removed.
  13. All students are required to be tested on a piece of equipment before that equipment can be used.
  14. Report all accidents to the instructor immediately. Do not enter the first aid kit without permission from the instructor.
  15. Violations of these rules will result in disciplinary actions by the instructor and/or school administration.
  16. Disruptions or misbehavior will NOT be tolerated!
  17. There may be supervised field trips to various sites that enhance the educational activities of the class. By signing this form, the parent/guardian hereby gives permission for his/her child to travel on these trips and receive emergency medical attention if necessary.
  18. By signing this form, parent/guardian and the student acknowledge the above expectations and agree to follow them.
