Electronic Devices and Circuits I
CATALOG DESCRIPTION: EET 1141C Electronic Devices and Circuits I (4) (A.A.S./A.S.). Two hours lecture and four hours laboratory per week. Prerequisite: EET 1033C. This course includes the study of electronic devices and circuits including diodes, zener diodes, light emitting diodes, bipolar transistor, MOSFET’s and op-amps. Additional special fees are required.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
At the successful completion of this course, the student should be able to:
1. Design, construct, troubleshoot, and analyze diode clipper, damper, rectifier circuits.
2. Design, construct, troubleshoot, and analyze zener diode regulator circuits.
3. Design, construct, troubleshoot, and analyze bi-polar transistor amplifier and switching circuits.
4. Design, construct, troubleshoot, and analyze junction FET amplifier and switching circuits.
5. Design, construct, troubleshoot, and analyze MOSFET amplifier and switching circuits.
6. Design, construct, troubleshoot, analyze basic op-amp circuits including zero-crossing detectors, inverting and non-inverting amps, oscillators, and filters.
7. Demonstrate the use of oscilloscopes, meters, frequency converters to analyze semiconductor circuits.
8. Demonstrates the use of simulation software to analyze semiconductor circuits.
