Elected positions (elected on the state ballot)

Regional Director

1.  Academy membership for a minimum of the past three (3) years

2.  Experience in activities and leadership in the profession

3.  Willing to commit 2 years for the performance of duties of the office, first as director-electthen as director

4.  Attend and participate in Texas Academy board meetings and serve as a voting member of the Texas Academy Board of Directors

5.  Appoint the following regional positions and others as needed: CPE coordinator, networking/community events coordinator, awards coordinator, legislative coordinator, and scholarship coordinator. Seek representation for appointed positions from across the region.

6.  Maintain communication with Regional Director-elect and all appointed positions

7.  Maintain communication with regional membership; communicate messages to regional members

8.  Provide a list of the appointed positions to Texas Academy headquarters

9.  Develop a projected budget to meet the needs of the region.

10.  Coordinate the distribution of funds to meet regional needs and approve all expenditures.

11.  Complete all required reports as directed by the Texas Academy Board of Directors

12.  Attend Texas Academy summer leadership training.

Regional Director-Elect

1.  Academy membership for a minimum of the past two (2) years

2.  Experience in activities and leadership in the profession

3.  Willing to commit 2 years for the performance of duties of the office, first as director-electthen as director

4.  Able to fill director position in case of vacancy

5.  Assist Regional Director in the development of a projected budget to meet regional needs.

6.  Assist CPE Coordinator to obtain speakers for regional events including live and recorded webinars and/or events

7.  Submit all regional activities to Texas Academy Headquarters for posting on website and E-blasts

8.  Attend Texas Academy summer leadership training.

Appointed positions

CPE Coordinator

1.  Willing to commit 1 year for the performance of duties of the office

2.  In coordination with area members, plan CPE events across the region, including speakers, location and refreshments

3.  Work with regional director-elect on planning CPE meetings and events

4.  Submit events to director-elect for posting on websites and E-blasts

5.  Request funds as needed from regional director, according to budgetary needs

6.  Ensure attendees receive the Certificate of Attendance for meetings

7.  Serve on Texas Academy Annual Conference and Exhibition planning committee

8.  Attend Texas Academy summer leadership training.

Networking/Community Events Coordinator

1.  Willing to commit 1 year for the performance of duties of the office

2.  In coordination with area members, plan networking, social, and volunteer events across the region

3.  Maintain communication with CPE coordinator and co-plan events as needed

4.  Submit events to director-elect for submission to Texas Academy website and e-blasts

5.  Request funds as needed from regional director, according to budgetary needs

6.  Respond to community requests and coordinate connecting local members to the events as needed

7.  Attend Texas Academy summer leadership training.

Awards Coordinator

1.  Willing to commit 1 year for the performance of duties of the office

2.  Communicates to regional membership about individual awards through Texas Academy website submission

3.  Assist members as needed to ensure completed applications are submitted on time

4.  Coordinate the submission of applications for regional awards

5.  Attend Texas Academy summer leadership training.

Scholarship Coordinator

1.  Willing to commit 1 year for the performance of duties of the office

2.  Maintain contact list for all ACEND accredited programs in the region

3.  Communicate Texas Academy Foundation scholarships and deadlines to regional membership and ACEND program directors

4.  In conjunction with TAND Foundation Director and Director-elect, coordinate TAND Foundation fundraising efforts across the region.

5.  Coordinate with regional director to establish and/or maintain criteria and allocation of funds raised for regional scholarships

6.  Attend Texas Academy summer leadership training.

Legislative Coordinator

1.  Willing to commit 1 year for the performance of duties of the office

2.  Serve on the Affiliate Public Policy Panel

3.  Inform regional members of federal and state legislative issues related to nutrition, food, and dietetic practice

4.  Encourage regional members to respond to Action Alerts and visit legislative offices

5.  Promote attendance at the Texas Academy Public Policy Workshop and Nutrition Day at the Capitol

6.  Attend Texas Academy summer leadership training.
