For those who cannot attend the 20-hour Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) curriculum, the Fire Department offers two alternative training opportunities through the CERT Boot Camp and the CERT Certification Crossover for those citizens who formerly attended our NEAT Program. These alternative classes are also offered to assist residents of El Cerrito and Kensington to be self-sufficient in the event of a disaster. Classes are offered free of charge. CERT Boot Camp
The CERT Boot Camp is designed to provide those participants who cannot commit the required 20 hours for training. This non-certified one-day training will introduce participants to CERT in all program areas in a condensed format.

CERT Certification Classes
CERT Certification classes are offered to those community members who have completed and been certified through the Neighborhood Emergency Assistance Team (NEAT) program want to be certified in CERT. The class will consist of the Terrorism & CERT Organization modules.
