ProjectDevelopment Worker

Key Purpose

To assist the development of the Northumberland Social Care Community Network

Responsible to: NSCCN Project Manager

Responsible for: Project administrative staff and for oversight of any external contracts

Hours: 28 hours a week

Duration: The post is funded until 31st March 2011

Salary: Your rate of pay is £22,908 (pro rata of NJC Range pt 34)

  1. Network development

Assist in building up a network of VCS organisations involved or interested in personalisation and the transformation of care.

Develop and implement best practice policies, systems and procedures for the successful delivery of the project.

Assist in the provision of up to date and accurate information, policy and practice, opportunities for skills and workforce development, and collaboration and funding.

Plan and coordinate regular networking events for VCS organisations and groups on issues of interest to NSCCN membership

Offer organisational audits to member organisations to contribute to their sustainability strategies.

Liaise with public sector partners and other bodies

  1. Information and Networking

Ensure that NSCCN’s membership records are regularly updated and that data held is compliant with data protection legislation.

Promote third sector specialist and non-specialist providers and support good quality signposting to and between member organisations.

Organise meetings in localities to contribute to the development of coordinated information advice and guidance to people with care needs, their carers, and the general public.

Facilitate development of clusters of providers to collaborate in developing proposals around the needs and interests of particular target groups and localities.

2. Contracts and Monitoring

Oversee contracting relationships with the project’s commissioner.

Monitor progress against contracts, ensuring that online and paper monitoring records are processed and up to date.

Liaise with other team members to ensure contracts are on target.

Contribute to organisational self-assessment processes by providing relevant evidence from monitoring records and improving record-keeping systems.

3. Projects

Help from time to time to manage short projects and one-off events

Commission and contribute to learning and support programmes within the overall programme.

4. Administration

Maintain records of all work undertaken and ensure that information is readily available at all times.

Authorise payments from the backfill fund attached to the project.

Maintain financial records and produce funding reports as and when requested by the Director.

Assist with archiving of historical information.
