EGGER DHF – BUILDING AUTHORITY APPROVAL Z-9.1-454 OF THE DIBT EXTENDED TO 2014
Effective 1st January 2010, the DIBt (German Institute for Structural Engineering) extended the approval document Z-9.1-454 for EGGER DHF boards with a thickness of 12 to 20 mm (0.47 to 0.79”) by another five years.
The design and rating rules were adapted to the current version of the applicable standards. As a result, DHF boards may be used both as vapour-permeable underlay in roof and wall construction as well as roof and wall component sheathing.
According to the area of application pursuant to the approval document, EGGER DHF boards are suitable for applications where the use of boards in the wood-based material classes 20 and 100 under DIN 688002 is permitted. This corresponds to usage classes 1 and 2 according to DIN 1052. They may be used as sheathing in wall and roof construction using wood-based panels for applications pursuant to DIN 1052 and DIN V ENV 199511 in conjunction with the national application document (NAD). The approval document includes the typical calculation values as well as kmod and kdef coefficients for measurement according to DIN 1052. Rated values for fasteners have also been added. The lower µ-value of 11 facilitates the implementation of vapour-permeable wood construction preferred today.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
EGGER DHF bears the “Blue Angel” thanks to formaldehyde-free gluing – because of reduced emissions (pursuant to RAL UZ 76). The DHF boards are certified with an environmental product declaration according to ISO 14025 by the Institut Bauen und Umwelt e.V. (IBU) (Institute for Construction and Environment).
For the efficient realisation of wood construction in hazard class 0, EGGER Holzwerkstoffe Wismar GmbH & Co. KG stocks the floor to ceiling 3.0 m (118.11”) EGGER DHF version in addition to the handy tongue & groove board formats (e.g. 2500 x 675 mm (98.43 x 26.57”)).
With a raw density of ≥ 600 to 650 kg/m³, EGGER DHF makes it easy to use the DIN 4102-4 component catalogue for the simplified fire protection certification process for F-30 B structures.
The component catalogue of the EGGER wood construction planning manual includes numerous design examples for wall and roof components to meet a wide variety of requirements.
In terms of roof construction, EGGER DHF as an interlocked underlay board according to the ZVDH guidelines can also be used as temporary sheathing without an additional nail sealing strip.
The grid imprint on the top in the common wood construction spacing of 62.5 cm and 83.3 cm (24.61 and 32.80”) speeds up installation significantly and therefore offers quick protection against weather for the structure and insulation.
