This week’s Student of the Week in Class 3 is:
Jake Gregor
Well done Jake!
Marmalade
Mrs Davies has 85 jars of homemade orange marmalade. She will be selling this for £2.50 a jar, all proceeds going to raise money for Sara Illsley’s Pebble Wood. She will have a stall at the Spring Fayre, but will also be happy to sell you a jar before or after school.
Achievements
Above is a picture of Charlotte Eathorne proudly holding her cup which she won for most improved rider of the season. Charlotte also came 1st in a jumping class, beating 15 other riders!
Well done Charlotte!
Virtues
Next week, we will be learning about Respect, and we will update you fortnightly on which particular virtue we are learning about.
Kehelland PTSCA Spring Fayre – Friday 24th March 2017
Next Friday is our school Spring Fayre. It will be starting at 2.30pm with performances by the school choir and Ukulele Band followed by an Easter Hat Parade at 3.00pm. There will be children’s craft activities and an Easter Egg Trail running from approximately 3.15pm. There will also be a few stalls, competitions (details to follow) and refreshments. We are asking for chocolate donations for the tombola – chocolate of all shapes and sizes would be great (multibags of fun size bars are especially helpful, but any contributions will be hugely appreciated). We are also asking for donations of whole cakes to sell on a cake stall. Finally, we are also in need of some more volunteers – there is a sign-up sheet in the shelter outside of Class 1. Thank you.
PTSCA AGM & Newsletter
Unfortunately, for a variety of reasons, the AGM has been postponed to Thursday 27th April at 7.00pm (venue tbc). We will also be discussing Gig on the Green, the next Gardening Day and other forthcoming fundraising events. As always, all are welcome to attend – parent, grandparents, staff … no pressure to do anything more than listen or voice your thoughts but there are a couple of committee roles available if you are interested in being more involved. Final word from us – there will be a newsletter from the PTSCA – please look out for it and have a read, it will detail the things that have been funded this year as well as more information on our upcoming events.
KS 1 & 2 SATs Tests
The dates for the KS1 and KS2 SATs tests are:
KS1 Week in May to be arranged (Y2 children)
KS2 Week beginning Monday 8th May 2017 (Y6 children)
I would be most grateful if parents could keep these dates in mind when planning any holidays or short breaks away. Thank you.
Class 2 Homework
Thank you to all Class 2 children who regularly do their homework each week. All children should be reading to someone at home at least 3 times a week – this should be recorded in their school diary. Children should also be practising their weekly spellings which are given out on a Tuesday and tested on the following Monday. Maths homework is given to the children by Mrs Orchard on a Wednesday as well as times tables which should be practised using the 99 Club Sheet for guidance. Children are also encouraged to use the Topic Homework Grid for ideas.
Shelter Box
Class 1 children are collecting 1p and 2p pieces to donate to the charity Shelter Box. Their RE work this term has looked at the situation of refugees in the world and they decided they wanted to help. If any children in Class 2 and Class 3 would like to contribute, we will be very pleased to add their coins to our pot.
World Down Syndrome Day – Tuesday 21st March
