EASTERN REGION GIRLS 6-A-SIDE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS

TO BE HELD AT RAF HONINGTON SATURDAY 19th NOVEMBER 2011
GENERAL

1. The Eastern Region Girls 6-A-Side Football Championships will be held on Saturday 19 November 2011 at RAF Honington, Suffolk, IP31 1EE commencing at 1000 hrs. All matches will be played on the two Astro Pitches adjacent to the RAF Honington Gymnasium.

DRESS

2. Civilian Clothing is to be worn by all those attending.

3. Changing facilities are available in the RAF Honington Gymnasium.

4. Players must wear appropriate footwear for the Astro surface.

5. Players must also wear regulation shin pads whilst on the field of play.

6. Teams must bring a change of shirts or bibs of a different colour.

ACCOMMODATION AND MESSING

7. For those Counties who have further to travel than others, accommodation is available at the Norfolk & Suffolk CTC, Croxton Road, Thetford (8 miles from RAF Honington). Packed Lunches will be provided for all Players and Coaches at Lunch time at RAF Honington.

ENTRIES

8. Counties may enter a Junior and Senior team as follows:

a. Juniors. Female cadets under 15 years of age on 01 September 2011. To qualify cadets

must have been born on or after 02 September 1996.

b. Seniors. Female cadets over 15 and under 18 years of age on 01 September 2011. To

qualify cadets must have been born between 02 September 1993 and 01 September

1996.

9. Entry Forms are at Annex A, the cost per team is £40 and cheques should be made payable to “Suffolk ACF”. Entry forms are to be returned to the CEO Suffolk ACF by no later than Friday 21 October 2011 to the address above.

OFFICIALS

10. Suffolk ACF will organise the event and will supply suitably qualified referees.

COMPETITION RULES & PRIZE GIVING

11. Rules for 6 A Side Football are contained in the ACF Sports Manual, Page 17 (Revised June 2011). Dependant on the number of teams who enter will depend on the format adopted. Nine teams entering will see two leagues of 4 & 5 and the top two teams going into a Semifinal. Six or less teams will probably mean one league and all playing each other and the top four playing in a Semifinal.

12. Trophies and Medals will be awarded to the Winners and Runners Up.

CONSENSUAL & HEALTH DECLARATION

13. Counties are reminded that they will need to complete a Consensual & Health Declaration Form (example attached) for each of their players and hand them in on arrival.

SUMMARY

14. This event which replaces the “Girls Sports Weekend” will only be successful if all Counties enter a team. Nottinghamshire ACF have been tremendous ambassadors for Eastern Region Girls Football in the past but it is time for all those football loving female cadets from the other Counties to don their boots and show us that they can play a bit too.
