  • Peterborough Dementia Action Alliance launch February 2014: multi organisation Dementia Action Alliance; new Dementia Resource Centre; dementia friendly community projects
  • Registration for Alzheimers Society annual Memory Walk is now open:
  • £90 million investment from NHS England to tackle delays in diagnosis, low diagnosis rates, research and dementia friendly businesses, alongside recent changes in GP contracts regarding care for over 75’s and vulnerable patients.
  • Appointment by Prime Minister of World Dementia Envoy – Dr Dennis Gillings, - with plans to create World Dementia Council to raise funds for research into dementia.
  • Department of health survey on post diagnostic support for people with dementia and their carers – for CCG’s and local authorities – running until 31/3/2014
  • Department of health – Dementia Care – the ambition:

  • Dementia Dog project, Alzheimer Scotland: to support people living with a diagnosis of dementia to improve their sense of well-being and quality of life, as well as carer benefits.
