Early Career Program – Environmental, Health & Safety

The Hexcel Early Career Program is a highly coveted three year rotational program that will partner you with exceptional professionals in the industry as you engage in complex and critical projects. The program seeks out and recruits motivated college graduates who demonstrate leadership ability and academic excellence. During this three year program, participants will have three diverse assignments lasting 12 months each, one of which will be a cross-functional assignment. Candidates may be required to relocate up to three times during their tenure in the program. .

Participants are engaged in a wide range of learning experiences including coaching, assessments, career planning and networking. These experiences are provided by rotating to various sites and through annual training programs offered only to those who are program participants. These annual training events include networking opportunities with our executive leadership team. Upon successful completion of the program, you will have the opportunity to apply for an off-program position which best matches your qualifications and career goals.

Our Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) function is a critical partner within our Integrated Supply Chain team. Being a member of our Integrated Supply Chain team will give you developmental opportunities in manufacturing, engineering, quality, supply chain management and EHS. The assignments selected for this position have been chosen to develop you into an EHS professional. This position will start at our Salt Lake City, Utah facility working closely with our US EHS Manager. Year two will also be in an EHS capacity at our Pottsville, Pennsylvania site. The third rotation will be a cross-functional rotation at a third Hexcel location.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

·  Developing, implementing, maintaining and managing a variety of EHS policies and procedures.

·  Interacting with government agencies, professional EHS groups, community advisory panels and corporate EHS officers to ensure we are in compliance with local, state and federal regulations.

·  Fostering a positive EHS culture within Hexcel’s Integrated Supply Chain team through interaction with employees at all levels of the organization.

·  Recommending and executing preventive and improvement measures to ensure the enhancement of the EHS program.

·  Ensuring compliance to EHS standards through inspections of operating areas, audits, hazard assessments and through review and approval of operating procedures.

·  Actively participating in risk and hazard evaluations for EHS reviews of existing processes, equipment and new capital investments.

·  Providing timely resolutions of EHS problems by defining the problem, determining root cause, establishing action plans and priorities, expediting repair and providing technical assistance.

·  Participate in incident and root cause investigations and learn the global software package for managing EHS issues.

·  Participating in professional development opportunities including working towards professional certification (FE, ASP, EPI, etc.).

Qualifications:

·  A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Safety, or Environmental Science. Master’s Degree preferred.

·  Strong interest to work in EHS

·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·  Effective project management skills

·  Conducts all work with the highest level of ethical standards.

·  Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member

·  No more than 3 years of work experience.

·  Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally as you will be given the opportunity to interface with all levels of employees at various Hexcel locations.

·  Certifications preferred: ASP, FE or EPI.
