Welcome to Basketball Intramurals

TEAM CAPTAIN:

Each team must select one player to be their captain.

Captain will communicate with League Official(s).

Captain will be responsible for:

Collecting fees and having them turned in.

Making sure each player is in uniform.

Contacting team members in the event game times are changed.

Obtaining signed ‘Players’ Code of Ethics Pledges’ from each team member.

Attending Intramural meetings as called by the League Official(s).

TEAM UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS:

Team should have similar color shirts. This does not need to be a new purchase.

Shirts must be in good condition-no rips, tears, or cut outs.

Uniforms must have a number on the front and the back.

ROSTER:

A completed roster, with names, grade, address and phone number must be turned in to League Official(s) by assigned date.

Teams are allowed 8 players and up to 2 alternates.

FEES:

A onetime team fee of $160, ($20/team member if team is 8 members)

Checks should be made out to GHS.

Fee is due with roster.

GAMES:

There will be 2 referees at each game and one official score keeper.

There will be 10 minutes allowed for pregame warm-ups.

10:00 Warmup Begins-Officials supervise pregame warm-ups.

8:00 Officials conduct pregame meeting with team captains. Check and okay uniforms.

5:00Officials proceed to scoretable and check scorebooks, brief scorer/timer, check ball for air pressure, sign in.

0:00Pledge of Allegiance.

Each team will be allowed TWO 30 second timeouts per half.

We will play 20 minute halves with clock stop only in the last two minutes.

Games will be played on most Saturdays during basketball season. Check your schedule CAREFULLY for time AND location-we play in the LAG and AUX many times. There are a few games scheduled for Tuesday and Friday immediately after school in the Main Gym and AUX gym.

RULES:

All players will have a ‘Players’ Code of Ethics Pledge’ turned in signed by player AND parent.

Teams will play in a round-robin schedule. The league official(s) will work to get in as many games as the gym schedule allows for.

Playoffs will occur at the end of the ‘regular’ season. Teams will be ranked based on overall record, total points scored, and total points scored against them.
