Mutant Animals

Concept

YES:

·  Create 2 mutants

·  Each mutant is made from 3 animals

·  Choose animals that have different features.
Wolf ears on a dog don’t look mutanty-enough!

·  Make the different body parts fit in:

o  Size

o  Orientation

o  Attachment

·  Change the background. Fit the mutant into the scene as if it was its natural habitat.

NO:

·  People

·  Repeat animals

o  Pug/Beagle/etc. all count as a Dog.

·  Cartoon/Superhero/Extinct /Movie/Fake characters

Making your mutants

·  In your My Documents/Photoshop folder,
make 2 folders:

o  Mutant 1

o  Mutant 2

·  When you search for pictures on google, make sure you have the size set to At Least 2 MP

·  Save your original images into these folders.
(Right click – Save Image As…)

·  When you make your Photoshop files, start with:

o  1500x1500

o  16 bit - RGB

·  You can make the picture bigger if you need more space:

o  Image Menu - Canvas Size

Final Product

·  1 page (single sided) in Microsoft Word.

·  For each mutant, use Save for Web…

o  JPEG High Quality

·  Open Word - Mutants Template (on Page 2)

·  Turn on: Table – Layout – View Gridlines so that you can see the boxes.

·  Drag the following pictures into Word

o  JPEG of the mutant

o  Original animals

·  Changing the Selfie:

o  Right click on purple circle edge

o  Format shape

o  Fill

o  File… button
