Dutch Fork Homeschool Resource Center Registration Information - 2018-2019
Thank you for your interest in Dutch Fork Homeschool Resource Center! Please know thatDFHRC is a resource center and not a school. We are committed to assisting you and your family on your homeschooling journey and seek to do so by providing instruction from a strong Biblical worldview. Knowledgeable instructors teach material, provide assignments, and award grades for your grade reports. However, you, the parent, are still responsible for the education of your child. Therefore, please maintain a high level of supervision over your child’s work and help us hold him/her accountable for the assignments we provide. From time to time we may even request that you administer a take-home test or sign off on an assignment and/or document time spent on homework. It is imperative that all homework assignments are completed in a timely manner in order for us to provide the weekly instruction necessary for course completion.
LOCATION: Classes are held at Chapin Baptist Church, 950 Old Lexington Highway, Chapin, SC 29036. The majority of classes meet only on Mondays, however, all Spanish courses and Chemistry I meet on Fridays as well. (See attached Part 2 – Course Matrix for details.)
IMPORTANT DATES: Deadline for registering without incurring a late fee is June 15th, 2018.
A mandatory orientation will be August 13th, 2018.
First semester runs from Aug. 20th – Dec. 10thand second semester runs from Jan. 7th, 2019 – April 15th, 2019. See our website at for a full course calendar.
REGISTRATION: Please print out and completePart 1(Registration Form) andPart 2(Course Matrix; one for each student) and submit along with all appropriate fees to: Lisa Baghdady, 118 Cobblestone Court, Chapin, SC 29036. Lisa will record your registration, send a confirmation e-mail to parents and course instructor(s), and deliver all checks to the appropriate parties.
FEES:
- Registration/facility fee to be submitted with registration form and course matrix - A nonrefundable registration/facility fee of $100 for returningfamilies* and $115 for new families made payable to Chapin Baptist Churchfor the use of their facilities.
- Science lab and/or art supply fees to be submitted with registration form and course matrix - Made payable to the appropriate instructors. (See Course Matrix for details.)
- Tuition to be paid at orientation on August 13th,, 2018 for fall semester and on January 7th, 2019 for spring semester -$235 per semester, per class, per student made payable to individual instructors. Chemistry I is an additional $10 and all Spanish courses are an additional $20 since they meet more than once a week. (Sibling discounts may be available for multiple siblings taking courses with the same instructor. See instructor for details.)
- Late registration fee to be submitted with registration form, if necessary- If classroom space permits, registrations received after the June 15th deadline may be accepted, however, a $25 late fee will be required if received from June 16th – 30th, 2018; $40 if received from July 16th – 31st, 2018; $55 if received after July 31st, 2018. –If a late registration fee is necessary, please address a separate check made payable to Lisa Baghdady for use as supply fees to cover additional needs for the center (i.e. website upkeep, online grade reporting, general supply fund, etc.).
