TOURNAMENT RULES

  1. Each centre (city or town regularly operating a league or leagues) shall be eligible to enter as many FIVE PERSON teams as they wish, providing they meet the requirements of the rules.
  1. Substitute players will be allowed only in the case of illness or exceptional circumstances. The individual must be listed on the Entry Form as a substitute and be duly qualified under the eligibility rules of the competition concerned.
  1. In the event there is no substitute listed or the substitute is unable to bowl, the original bowler’s John Doe score will be used. (John Doe score is the average listed at the time of submitting the entry, less 10% of that figure, per game bowled.)
  1. No bowler will be eligible to play unless he or she has participated in at least 50% of regular season games.
  1. The score of the sighted coach will not be counted.
  1. Ten frames will be played in each game and the tournament will be decided in favour of the team scoring the greatest number of pins over average in three games.
  1. In the event of a tie, an extra game of ten frames must be played within one week to decide the winner.
  1. Each team member must have 10% or less vision as required for registration with The Canadian National Institute for the Blind and hold a current CCB National Membership card. Enrollees do not qualify to bowl in this competition.
  1. The actual number of pins bowled in three games shall be the score submitted. The system of "pins over average" will be the basis for scoring.
  1. All leagues must submit a completed "Entry/Result Form" listing the averages of all bowlers entered in the competition as of December 31 of the preceding year. If a centre wishes to enter more than one team, please email as many “Entry/Result” forms as needed.
  1. All decisions of the Director and Committee are final.
  1. All Entry/Result Forms for the competition must be e-mailed within seven days following the competition and sent to the address listed below.
  1. All rules governing the Canadian Bowling Associations apply with modification applicable to blind competitors.
  1. Any combination of totally blind and partially sighted bowlers can be used when entering a team in the Lewis Miller Woods Tournament. It is no longer a requirement to have a totally blind bowler on a team to enter the competition.
  1. There is no limit as to the number of teams entered from one league.
