6th Grade Science Poster Instructions
Due Date: Periods 1, 3, & 5 Thursday Sept. 10th
Periods 2, 4, & 6 Friday Sept. 11th
Instructions: You will be choosing a ‘Science Topic’ and creating a poster. For full credit, the poster must include the following.
- The title of your ‘Science Topic.’ Some suggestions are….
Weathering and soil Erosion and Deposition Plate Tectonics Earthquakes
Volcanoes The Atmosphere Weather Climate
Climate Change Ecosystems Living Resources Energy
Material Resources
*** If you choose to do your project on a ‘Science Topic’ that is not listed, you must get it approved first before making it your poster choice.***
- Poster must be 9 inches by 12 inches
- At least 10 facts in complete sentences, explaining information about the ‘Science topic’ you chose. The sentences must be in your own words and you may type out your facts. You can not print out directly from the internet because this would not be in your own words and would be considered plagiarism.
- Cite your sources in the bottom right hand corner of the poster.
- You need a minimum of 2 sources and one of them must come from a book or a magazine. An example: One internet source and one book or magazine source.
- Your poster should be neat, colorful and original (makers, crayons, etc.)
- Your poster should also include at least one illustration related to your ‘Science Topic.’
- You need to put your name and period number on the back of the poster.
