Summary:

This is the DN version of “Dude Perfect” – the guys who have fun making incredible trick shots with almost every sports object. YouTube sensations,12 million subscribers, a series on CMT, the Kids Choice Awards, etc.. My kids love them. Your kids love them.

This will be the video segment of the show. The main five “Dudes” will intro the skit as they do in their videos. But instead of doing the tricks themselves, they tell us that they are going to take us to Ridgewood, New Jersey where the dads of two elementary schools claim to be “Dad Perfect.”

From there, we kick up the high energy music, start up the montage of tricks with the DP Dudes around Ridgewood landmarks, and then meet the DN “Dad Perfect” Dudes. The DN Dudes say they are the best in the world at trick shots and start off with a half-court basketball shot that completely misses the basket, but the DN Dudes still celebrate with high-fives, chest bumps as if they made it. The DP Dudes are confused. DN Dudes explain, “It’s DN Perfect.” The DP Dudes aren’t having it and challenge the DN Dudes to a trick shot battle.

Football kicks, basketballshots, ping pong ball shots, water bottle flips, soccer trick shots, Frisbee tosses, corn hole tosses, hockey shots, pool table tricks…the possibilities are endless. The tricks will all benamed just like the “Dude Perfect” tricks with lower thirds on the screen - ex: Best Backwards Half-Court Shot, Highest Water BottleToss, etc.The dads who sign up will each pitch an idea in January and we’ll pick the best of them to include in the challenge. Each dad will also be responsible for whatever random costume they want to wear. For certain tricks, we may assign specific costumes. We’ll toss in some funny dad-themed tricks like the “Dad-I-forgot–my-lunch” trick as a dad drives in front of Somerville and tosses a brown bag over the car roof with his left hand and right into the hands of his daughter, or the “Honey-take-out-the-trash” long toss over the garage and into the garbage can shot.

We’ll be in the Somerville and Hawes gyms, outside in the school parks, on the RHS football field, at the Duck Pond, around well-known landmarks in town, and if it snows, it’ll open up an entire world of snowball-throwing tricks.

We’ll shoot itover several weekends and will give guys a couple of opportunities to come out. The main DP Dudes should be available for most of them.

In the end, when the DN Dudes and the DP Dudes both fail on their last trick – large water jug flips – they look at each other and high-five, chest bump each other anyway because they realize they are Dads’ Night Perfect.

We end as the DP Dudes do with “a pound and head bump” to the camera – until next time.
