This form is designed to help dual degree students track their progress prior to enrolling in an engineering degree program at Clemson University. Please complete this form and review it each semester with the advisor at the dual degree institution prior to registration.

All transfers are initially accepted into General Engineering. Please submit the approved form to the Transfer Coordinator in the CU General Engineering Program for final review and approval. It will be placed in the student’s file along with the Intent to Declare Dual Degree Form each prospective student must complete and send to Clemson at the beginning of their program.

1. Complete information at top of form.

  1. Fill in your complete name including middle initial.
  2. List the dual degree institution you attend.
  3. List the academic year you entered that institution.
  4. List the name of the program at the dual degree institution that you are following; i.e., Pre-engineering/ Physics or Chemistry/Chemical Engineering.
  5. Please list dual degree advisor’s name and email.
  6. Please list your intended CU engineering major and your anticipated enrollment date at CU. (Fall 2010, Spring 2011).

2.To find equivalent GE courses at your school use the Clemson Transfer Credit Equivalency List (TCEL).

3.Using the courses on the TCEL, fill in the equivalents at your school.

4.CES 102 and ENGR 130/141 are not available at all schools. Summer school at CU is required to maintain progress toward graduation.

5.Refer to the General Education Worksheet on the GE webpage. Some courses may meet more than one requirement. A chart is provided above.

6.Courses required to complete the degree at your dual degree institution may be equivalent to Clemson courses but not applied toward your Clemson degree program. These will be classified as excess electives when you transfer.

7.Students remaining at the original institution after completing the first and second semester General Engineering courses should coordinate selection of subsequent courses with the designated dual degree advisor in the intended CU engineering department.

Students must meet all requirements for admission to Clemson University and must be accepted through the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Requirements are subject to change due to amendments in courses and curricula as determined by the Clemson University Undergraduate Curriculum Committee. Please consult the University Announcements for specific degree requirements.
