Dress Code for Candidates and Sponsors for the Confirmation Ceremony

In general, all attire should reflect a reverence for our Lord and the fruit of chastity as it is gifted to us through the Holy Spirit. In caring about our clothing for the Confirmation Ceremony, we are seeking to glorify God even in how we dress.

Please wear the following:

Guys:

Ø  Dress shirt

Ø  Dress pants (No sagging pants)

Ø  Belt

Ø  Tie

Ø  Dress shoes and dress socks

Ø  Jacket optional.

Gals:

Ø  Dress or skirt & blouse (or sweater).

Ø  Dress shoes.

Ø  Dress or skirt hems should fall as close to the top of the knee as possible. Short dresses are not appropriate. Shoulders must be covered; No spaghetti straps; No bare shoulder dresses…We need to pin on corsages and name tags!

Ø  Clothing may not be “form-fitting” (i.e. clinging).

Ø  Necklines must be modest.

*It is sometimes hard to find dresses that meet these requirements. It is permitted to have spaghetti strap dresses or bare shoulder dresses as long as a sweater or “shrug” is worn over the dress.
