Scholarship

1.  I will be required to submit my academic grades after every progress report and report card.

2.  I will be required to maintain an ALL A average for each core class (Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies and Language Arts).

a.  Should my grades drop below this requirement, I understand I will receive an academic probation notice. This notice will state that I have nine weeks to meet the requirements.

b.  After the nine week probationary period; should I still not meet the academic requirements; my membership will be terminated.

Responsibility

3.  I understand that NEHS members are expected to demonstrate responsibility at all times, both in school and out.

a.  As a member, I will be expected to act as a model for other students.

b.  As a member, I will report to volunteer assignments, on time and without having to be reminded.

c.  As a member, I will attend all scheduled meetings, on time and with my required materials.

d.  As a member, I understand that receiving a school disciplinary action, may be cause for my membership to be terminated (we have a no referral policy).

Service

4.  I understand that NEHS members are expected to serve both their community and school.

a.  As a member, I will work hard to earn my required 25 service hours.

b.  As a member, I understand that at least 10 of my hours must be earned by volunteering in the community.

i. I understand that volunteering at my house or for any member of my family is not considered community service hours.

ii.  I understand that it will be my responsibility to find a volunteer project that I am passionate about, and make contact to set up a schedule.

iii.  I understand that I will be required to fill out a written description for each of my service projects, as well as maintain a signature and contact information for the person or organization that I’m volunteering for.

c.  I understand that if I do not earn the required amount of service hours I will not receive my membership pin and/or sash at the end of the year banquet.

Leadership

5.  I understand that I am to demonstrate leadership qualities in all areas at Sawgrass Bay and in my community.

a.  I understand that to be a leader, does not necessarily mean being “in charge” but to teach and build confidence in others; so that they too can be a leader.

b.  I understand that being a member of this organization, I am held to a higher standard, and am expected to maintain that standard.

*Please note, if membership is terminated, initial dues will not be refunded.
